Losing motivation to play
Oh btw I’ve taken a big break before this and I like to be cynical so read with caution
Honestly, I’m trying my best to have fun with stasis, Europa etc. but I’m starting to just not enjoy playing the game. The grind usually lasts me a while in expansions but this time I can’t seem to find a reason to play. Just more “go up the chain of command” quest line and useless grinding. A game shouldn’t need me to stop playing so I forget how boring it gets after a while. And I mean this like every expansion is the same grind now and that’s what makes it boring not just overplaying the game
I will say one thing. The story seems to being getting a lot better, which idk maybe that’s why the grind is lacking some innovation but this is Destiny. The grind is the story and the story is the grind

Edit #2: Been really thinking... if Bungie started being more honest about their plan and started managing people’s expectations to help the community understand why some content will be lacking for later content to reach its full potential the fan base would be way less frustrated and disappointed.
Edit#1: oh my god. This new seasonal activity is so boring. If you’re gonna focus on a story and NOT have a bunch of new items and activities. DONT put a bunch of time waste blocks (and have about 5 that recycle each other) in front of it. Ugh wtf happened bungie

I stopped playing Destiny2 in Arrival season. I was really tired of playing the same content repeatedly. I am not playing the game, I realize that the game and the bungie are playing me .

It’s awful. Major year content drop and for me it feels awful. Deleted two characters so destiny is back on the shelf. Personally I think they need new leadership and direction for destiny.even byf is tipping it apart. My opinion anyway.

I’m a solo player so all quests etc that I need help with comes to an end because the system to team up and ask for help is not there. Since the new upgrade all the quests and game content are gone unless I buy the overpriced expansion. Great game though except pvp - I’ve never enjoyed being cannon fodder.

D2’s PvE got ruined by PvP players.. and pve got ruined thinking PvP would carry the game while they tried to figure out pve content. Now, you have nothing but guessing reactionary content. That is the core scenario. Money does not think about an idea.. it thinks about making money.

What’s the point of going after god rolls anymore when you can’t use that weapon a year after it releases. It took me a very long time to get a god rolled Mindbenders and then a couple months later they announced sunsetting and gave everybody Felwinters lie. Pvp.......... they have completely butchered it. Sad to because everybody keeps saying the gun sandbox feels really nice..... I wouldn’t know I keep getting frozen in every single gunfight. It’s an instant I win button and has no counter other than you pushing that button first. It’s become a game of who has their ability up and who can get that said ability off first. Just played a comp match where I couldn’t even peek without being frozen in place..... no thanks. I haven’t done any raids in a long time, all my friends have quit this game, and I’m absolutely terrible about being social which is why I’m almost always playing this game by myself.

4 RepliesWhile there is a lot of bad, the single worst/stupidest decision is making the moon utterly pointless in terms of loot. Obsolete weapons in paid DLC. Can anyone justify that? Can even a single person explain why that makes sense on any level? Because it makes zero sense to me.

My only issues so far were the obvious sunsetting of Forsaken and Shadowkeep gear considering you still have to buy them. That's predatory. And I also don't care for the Fragment quests. Played one strike and lost my resolve. I'll get them eventually. Turned off Destiny and booted up Overwatch Other than that, I'm loving Beyond Light overall. Like, some design choices just seem absolutely clueless as though NO real thought went into them. If we could get a ViDoc explaining the reasoning behind some of these changes, that'd be nice

The season just started with more content coming and the raid hasn't even dropped yet. Give it awhile longer and you may feel like the grind is worth it. Or you may not. To each their own. But I'm enjoying it so far and players should at least play all the upcoming content before passing ultimate judgment.

9 RepliesThats because there is no reason to play now. Loot chase? Bungie killed that one big time. Power fantasy? Bungie killed that a while back. Collecting weapons from all over just in case one day they may be great from an update? Sunsetting destroyed everything about collecting anything in this game. New players may have a bit of fun and enjoy the game for a little bit. But for older players, there is no reason to even stick around anymore. Time to move on. It's dead JIM and Bungie killed its own game. Another reason to keep playing is if you are one of those peeps that love doing the same thing over and over and over into infinity. Maybe hoping that something will change and make it better. You know what they call these kinds of people?

I only play casual PvP (have done this since D1 day1 ) but these days with no weapons to grind for in PvP I have no desire to play. I paid for the expansion and season pass because I'm an adult and 60$ to support a game I like is nothing but still what's the point. I was bored on Thursday of launch week. Missing Activision and all its resources is definitely showing in the product. Also I cannot believe that they sunset all these weapons, nerfed the pinnacle ones and now expect us to grind the same weapons with just a higher light cap. It's just bonkers and ridiculous. I reserved judgment before BL because I thought we would be showered with new weapons but alas I was wrong. This is an insult to the player base. Like I said I only play casual PvP so i can continue using the sunset weapons but still this is suicide in a looter shooter. I'm bored of these old weapons. I basically now play warzone for PvP and look forward to cyberpunk for story. I miss Destiny with random exotic drops, vendor weapons refreshes, gunsmith orders, faction wars with weapons etc.. Where is the game I loved for so many years. At this point I wouldn't care if Bungie just shut down. I'm just borderline indifferent and I never thought that would happen with Destiny.

4 RepliesBounties as the main source of progression needs to go. Should be based on completing activities and killing enemies. Bounties are not content. The utterly pointless power grind needs to go. At some point the game needs to be about playing content and loot. The 3 month reset cycle isn't content. Unfortunately until these change my interests and or drive to play have all but disappeared. Personally I just can't be bothered.

I solo them constantly and would prefer some company. I am starting to conspire that Bungie is sacrificing this game to help Microsoft sell more copies of Halo 4. Frauds! On the up side I am reading books more now. Update: On the moon, and me and one other player just getting tromped by Nightmares.

I hate when there's new stuff that requires me to play these. Oh cool Crow is here! Oh cool he has something for me! "Play strikes, Crucible or Gambit" Even more? Again? Yaaaawn. Back to Europa.

I mean hey, Luke Smith came out 2 weeks before its launch and said to not expect much after dropping trailers and hyping it for 5 months non-stop LOL.

4 RepliesThe thing is, a lot of online multi-player PvE games are like this. Grind for gear to start difficult activity -> farm qctivity once good gear is got. Then....nothing. I'm going to bring up WoW as an example of thibgs done differently (yes, i know its a different game, thanks). But it offers Mythic+ Dungeons, an ever increasing difficulty that can take months to move up and hit the "gear cap". Destiny 2 has Master and GM Nightfalls, but unless you're going for Triumphs GM doesn't really matter. In my opinion, if they implemented something like the Infinite Forest Halloween activity where you clear floors and they get progressively harder and provided better loot the higher you got, but gave you a checkpoint every 5 floors or so that would add some more PvE replayability.

This game is trash...... look you have your destiny and bungie fan boys. You have ppl for whatever reason love this game. You have some that hate what bungie decides to do with sunsetting. But as someone who left this game for good back in warmind dlc I can say I love seeing the community on the forums still b****ing at the stuff that was going on back then. But you still have the blind fan boys still defending this game. At the end of the day if you enjoy the game good for you. But alot of ppl are starting to see what many ppl have before this game is trash. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Yall crack me up on the forums.

1 ReplyThe last two seasons pretty much killed my desire to play this game. The game constantly burying me crap loot, endless maintenance, godawful public events and endless horde modes have taken their toll. This game is stale as a two month old loaf of bread. This model just isn't sustainable for veteran players.

11 RepliesThere is no loot! They sunset everything, there is nothing to get! I have gotten the pulse, shotgun, and rocket launcher from Variks for the BL campaign and none of it is great. There simply is no reason to play.
