Issues So Far With Beyond Light

I've gotten Exodus Crash 6 times in the playlist while grinding for adored, and 3 times I had to return to orbit because the fallen skiff isn't deploying the walker to disengage the barrier. Please Bungie can you rework this dead strike so that 1 it finally stops glitching us out of our completions and 2 the end boss isn't such a maniacal snooze to fight? He's seriously the worst boss to kill after the fanatic, he just cloaks after you hit him 2 or 3 times, goes invulnerable, and then you have to sit and wait. At least make it so he doesn't disappear from the field but goes cloaked, that way we have to hunt him down. Less skilled players would still have to run through the enemy wave to make him visible for dps, skilled players could hunt down the cloaked -blam!- and merc him for good, literal win-win without destroying the initial intent of the boss phase in that strike. After this, PVP. I'm not going to complain about PVP since I'm not a PVP player, D2 has NEVER had good, balanced pvp and without dedicated servers, anti-cheat, and skill based matchmaking it NEVER will. As for the new guns, you really screwed over your F2P playerbase. I don't have the dlc yet because, like many people, the "global -blam!-" has rendered me without stable income. I'd like to take a second to wish everyone well and to please stay safe. Now then, free players don't have a legendary machine gun, at all. Hammerhead, 21% delirium and edgewise were all capped at 1060, and the 2 new machine guns are dlc. After removing no turning back, subtle calamity and hush (which was a -blam!-ing hellish grind bows in gambit come on) which were compound bows available to F2P players without raiding they brought in biting winds, but you have to get the dlc to get it as it's part of the new campaign. As far as I can tell, most of these new weapons are locked behind the dlc or the upcoming raid. Not all though, F2P members do still have the ability to make a good arsenal. Falling guillotine is still amazing as a heavy, and the solar auto rifle and kinetic pulse can both be found by "exploring europa", but this also leaves F2P members way less capable at clearing PvE activities. I love the lore, I love how we're finally bringing mister chitter chitter himself back in, but Bungie seems to have forgotten that Destiny 1 had more than just strikes, we had Prison of Elders, a PvE activity that didn't suck. Right now us PvE players can choose between strikes and raids. Woo. Fun. I love D2, I love the gunplay, the powers, I love trying to come up with new ways to build my warlock YES I'M A WARLOCK MAIN WE ARE THE MOST GRACEFUL OF THE GUARDIANS YOU WILL ALL BOW BEFORE MY FLOATY MAJESTY but you can only play the same strike so many HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of times before it gets a liiiiiiiiiittle too boring. You all keep struggling to make gambit work and it sucks, bungie please just listen to us, gambit sucks. It's not PvE, it's not PvP, it's just a mess where people jump in to bounty grind or to get those pinnacle guns which you made so much grindier than it needed to be, holy shit getting those pinnacles took forever and was one of the most frustrating things I've had to do in this game, and now all that gear is useless and simultaneously has no replacement, which is leaving a lot of thousand hour players feeling suuuuper jaded. Keep in mind I AGREE with sunsetting, gear cycles are a part of mmos, otherwise the grind gets stale. Here's the problem Bungie, you didn't implement anywhere near enough gear to compensate for the amount you stripped out of the game. I love the new guns (the few I've been able to access without the dlc) but having played the first 10 or so season pass levels as a F2P wet noodle, I can confirm that you kneecapped the absolute hell out of free players, whether or not that was intentional I don't know, but you made my first 50 levels from 1050 to 1100 an absolute hell since the majority of my arsenal, as a returning player, was gone now. Python, Hush, 21%, all of Eris Morn's moon guns, warmind dlc weapons, black armory dlc weapons, the list goes on. If you're going to cycle out content that people have paid for and have grinded for in game, you need to give them a substitute with comparable value, and I'm sorry but Beyond Light fails to do that in so many ways. This isn't to shit on Bungie, this is criticism to make Beyond Light better. We need strikes patched up to make them a grind that isn't a chore to complete. We need pvp upgrades on a large scale if this game is ever going to have a meaningful pvp scene, dedicated servers, anti cheat and skill based matchmaking are only the initial building blocks for this, they alone won't be enough to fix pvp, but it will give a framework for real pvp to start existing in D2. I'm unsure as to how many other returners there are like me who've had their arsenal torn from them for the 2nd time in this game's history, considering you originally took away all of our guns at D2 launch and then dripfed them back in to the game as "content", but I have to be honest, you suck at making good decisions for your playerbase Bungie. You seem to have the best of intentions but the messiest of implementations every time, and it hurts your trust rating, not that I can trust you very much right now given your lack of transparency in regards to how you're using revenue for D2. All we can ever find is heresay and second hand reports because you never come out and tell us "this is what we make off silver, this is how we spend our revenues, this is the profit we made as a company" literally all I can find are forum posts saying Luke Smith is overpaid/underpaid without giving figures, and that Bungie had roughly $300 million in revenue for 2019, which sounds like a lot for a single year, but unlike a publicly traded corporation where I could look up their statements as a matter of public record and see their revenue, profit, salaries, stock bonuses etc, I can't find any information for your company. So when my friends say "they pulled in $300 million but vaulted old dlcs that people paid for and took away all their guns? Why would I play that?" I don't have an answer. The best I can say is "well they had to pay off activision for $164 million and with 600 staff that much revenue could mostly just be going to wages" but that literally only works for this year and brings up a follow up question of "if they have 600 staff that makes them one of the bigger game development studios, why are they struggling to make content?" I'm not sure as to what would "fix" the situation, but some more transparency from you as to HOW you're using our money and WHY that money isn't going to dedicated servers or an anti cheat system would go a long way to reestablishing some trust. WE WANT this game to work, and we'll gladly help you turn a profit in doing so, but unless you quit treating us like some rabid horde you need to control and instead start explaining your financial decisions to who are effectively your shareholders we can't help you help us. Since you've taken ownership of the ip and split with Activision, maybe it's time you partnered up with us instead?
