I dunno but in d1 I was a big prison of elders, Siva and Fallen fan in general. Variks voice lines were my favorite so when I heard Variks speak in the trailer I noticed he learned some grammer. I thought it was a nice character development, but still gonna miss that special grammer. or atleast way to speak
-
He was faking it to play dumb...yes?
-
Found thesaurus i did
-
Its revealed by one of spiders voicelines that variks was using a fake accent in d1, What we hear in these trailers is how he actually talks which means hes serious

I can't with the irony in that title 😂

Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.
-
Yes spider tells us that Variks was faking his bad English to appear less threatening
-
He downloaded grammarly
-
Now that Disney owns the Star Wars franchise they probably threatened to sue Bungie for using Yoda's grammar skills.
-
Its definitely a different voice actor, D1 Variks was way better.
-
He was on the lamb. He has no hair to dye so it’s one of the few things he could change
-
yeah he uses Grammarly

Edited by EARWAK3R: 10/22/2020 12:42:28 PMVariks mastered the Human lexicon long ago. He's just been keeping it low key for appearance sake.
-
He knew perfect English even in D1, but he figured that using broken English would make other people think he was less intelligent than he actually is.
-
Variks has always spoken perfect English. He hid it from the Awoken to make it seem like he was just a dumb Fallen.
-
Not bad Variks .
-
I don't think he learned better grammar, I'm pretty sure he already knew "proper" grammar before this, he just chose to speak in "broken" grammar to seem less threatening to guardians, we know what they're capable of after all. If he appeared less threatening, there was definitely less of a chance he would get a bullet to the head.
-
There’s probably some line in some lore card you had to do some offhand thing to get that explains it. Until a couple days ago, I didn’t even know Variks was the one who caused the prison break in forsaken. Seems like a pretty big plot point not to mention through the games story.
-
I don't think he used special grammer. It was probably kinetic, or heavy grammer.
-
No? He speaks basically the exact same way. Don’t believe every rumor you hear on the shore.
