Not because I think it's bad, but because it's by far the least rewarding of the 3 core activities.
Strikes have ordeal nightfalls, 4 weekly challenges, and tokens.
Crucible has valour, glory, 3 weekly challenges, and tokens (trials feels like a separate entity some I'm excluding it).
Gambit has infamy, which feels like it takes way longer to level than valour. 2 weekly challenges. 2 weekly bounties. And that's it. Not a whole lot in comparison to crucible.

I love gambit prime. I just can’t play it because I’m stuck in the desert.
-
Playing gambit or having molten lead poured down my A-Hole lol ..... Where's that funnel??
-
Horiible and failed game mode. Needs to be sunset
-
Like other replies on here, I now only play the 3 Gambit matches for the weekly pinnacle reward and to get umbral traces when required. There's no fun anymore when your team are being invaded every 10 seconds, and the opposition melt their boss before you can invade. I am looking forward to trying the new revised mode in Beyond Light though.

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 10/21/2020 3:15:19 PM15-16000 point grind to fully go up 1 Rank (and gain nothing of note/few enhancement cores etc) Only for Bungie to remove the lifetime ranking when Shadowkeep & FOMO seasons were introduced So instead of being Rank 8/13/27 etc - it’s just back to zero every season! Just proof that it’s another half baked scheme with no actual thought put into it, nor care for the time players invested in Gambit (after Rank 3 for the original weapons/ghost/malfeasance quest) D2 ‘Rank’ with Shaxx/Zavala/Drifter/Banshee etc, never mattered for Bungie!

I really don’t understand why Gambit gets so much hate. I know op was saying the mode was bad but a lot of people are. I would much prefer playing Gambit over Strikes any day. I’ve been playing it recently as a returning friend who has played it before really likes it. Which just made me think what actually happen with Gambit that made me everyone turn from enjoying to straight hating it?. I think fundamentally Gambit is a great game mode, but just needs tweaking to make it a solid game mode. Just seems like it’s become but of a meme, but honestly it’s not the worst content by a long shot in my opinion.
-
Agreed, I’m surprised Gambit doesn’t have its own token system
-
Gambit is bad if you don't play with a team. It is by far the worst activity for solo players. It has other problems but that is the biggest problem. It is so heavily team oriented, and 99% of the time solo players are on doing bounties or afk or whatever it just ruins the experience. And it is very unrewarding, only thing good to come from gambit was malficience.
-
I genuinely enjoy Gambit. It is frustrating having thumbless teammates. But the game mode is fun.
-
I like normal gambit, but gambit prime and the reckoning are not fun!
-
It's not rewarding at all but I still play it alot because it's pretty fun. At least, invading is. It would be awesome though if they could provide updated gear, new weapons, more bounties, and stuff like that.
-
Played 4-5 rounds last night for shits and giggles..that’s about the max for me..hats off to the folks who love the mode.
-
Then don't

Edited by policzanin539: 10/19/2020 11:46:00 PMI have fun in Gambit BUT...there is no looot!!!!! I got Delirium 21, Malfeasance, and Gambit SMG. There is nothing left to chase there! Give me loot and I am all yours, my Gambit!
-
The lack of map variety is itself one of the biggest issues. Why Bungie refuses to add maps to game modes is lost on me. Are we STILL on like 4 or 5 maps for Gambit, JFC. IT WAS A WHOLE SEASON OF THIS MODE AND STILL NO NEW MAPS!
-
Now I’ve got Dregden there’s no motive to play gambit
-
Edited by Bristol Lad: 10/20/2020 7:52:20 AMI enjoy gambit but being invaded every few seconds (that's what it seems like) is a pain. I only now do the bounties for the bright dust.

Played gambit for 2 weeks to grind and get reckoner. Honestly it wasn’t so bad. I had fun. Got the title using Astral horizon 1-2 punch Risk runner(hive fallen cabal)galliard(vex scorn) Falling guillotine Bubble for invader medals Bottom tree doomfangs for massacre This is all you need and game sense. Gambit would be better if it was a monthly event like ib. Curated load outs and no match making. Make it a 5 -7 win tournament like trials and special rewards for flawless.
-
If they added new and unique rewards, I'd play it. Right now there's no reason for me to do so.
-
I hate...those...damn taken captains. I feel like I'm fighting goku UI mastered.
-
Edited by OnuR10Ly: 10/20/2020 2:05:20 AMI feel no urge to play the game. lol.
-
I used to hate Gambit so much during at the beginning of Forsaken, now it's probably one of my favorite game mode. But i think there are some aspects that should be balanced, some weapons are way too effective (especially heavy weapons) and there are too much invasions.
-
i love gambit. Fav mode in the game
-
Ok, snitch
-
After recently becoming a reckoner its burnt me out
-
It's because there is no reason besides title, triumphs or quests to rankup faster. There is no specific loot tied to ranking up(personally don't like the shared loot pool for the 3 coremodes either) so why do Bungie bother with double/triple infamy or valour unless they make the rewards better like adding enhancement prisms or ascendent shards for that week.
