Sure. Freelance will make solos match solos.
But that just means the odds of duos getting stomped by a six stack just skyrocketed.
So I guess we need a duos playlist then? Or can we admit that these bandaid fixes aren't going to work in the long run?
I guarantee you freelance won't fix the issue of stacked teams. The problems is the current matching and team balancing systems don't look for evenly sized teams and they don't acocunt for outliers in lobby balancing. Right now if two very talented players team up and queue in, they will likely skew the results of the vast majority of their matches. Not because they're cheating or farming or abusing the system, but because the matchmakimg system grabs those players but then doesn't realize it can't split them up. So lobby balancing ends up putting the best players on the same team. That is an issue.
On top of that, you'll still have the issue of six stacks. Just seems like now they'll be farming duos just trying to play instead of solos. Is one really better than the others?
In short, freelance is a bandaid fix. We need matchmaking and team balancing updates to account for teams and outliers.

No. Because the issue isn't really stacked teams. Its the lockdown mechanic, that causes matches to snowball quickly out of control, and result in so many mercied matches.
-
nope it really wont
-
realistically, no. Those same stacks that were steamrolling players will still be able to steamroll solo. I look forward to the salt the first time the event comes up though.

Freelance isn’t going to solve anything, bad players are going to find something else to claim is the reason why they’re loosing as though loosing maters.

Every time I suggest some sort of handicap for better players to bring the skill gap closer, I get shouted down by the try hards, even when I say that playing with a handicap would mean more rewards, likely enough so that a loss with a handicap would be almost as good as a win without. Also, it's often these same players handicap themselves by lowering their light level in IB to finish some bounties more quickly who don't want the game to handicap them. But, when there are fireteams that can't be split up and make lobby balance a nightmare, it's one of the only ways to give both teams a chance without drastically limiting the player pool in matches. Apparently, though, the e-peen of K/D is more important than more rewards right now. Maybe next season when Crucible will be able to drop Prisms at end of match, players will think about wanting a handicap to get more of them.

Doesn’t matter how perfect any games PvP is....people will find anything to cry about these days if they aren’t winning every game.

No, without some measure of SBMM, there will continue to be complete blowouts.
-
No but we can't lie. This is gonna be interesting to see nonetheless.
