Loss of Important/Rare Items in Mailbox Due to Blue Engrams I Intentionally Avoided Collecting.

Last week during double nightfall loot, like a lot of other players, I played through the Nigthfalls a lot, completing over 25-30 runs (which is small compared to most others). I turned all the Prisms I could into Shards, then I maxxed out on Prisms, leaving a stack of prisms in my mailbox for safe keeping. Yesterday, I was running a Prophecy encounter over and over to try and get a particular item/roll to drop. I eventually received a message saying my mailbox was full and I should return to clear it out, only to find that it had already cleared out all my 'safe kept' items, and replaced them with meaningless blue items. I understand the game warned me, but the warning was already too late and it automatically deleted countless hours worth of resources for a blue I don't want. Is there a way to get these items back? Knowing that the mailbox does not keep items if superseded with random drops, I will immediately Masterwork some items to clear up space in my inventory. If anyone could help me with where I could possibly appeal for this would be really helpful. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Hey there! The postmaster is not to be meant as storage. You need to grab your items if they are important. Bungie does not replace in-game items that are lost, discarded, or consumed. (Deleted Item and Character Policy)
Bungie does not provide the following services: [...] Recovery of items lost due a Character's Postmaster being full
• I feel your frustration, its never fun and iI would love a priority system but this is exactly why you'll often hear warning about using post master as storage. Heck i even keep dim open in case i miss out on it getting full and to see if i have anything of value in there.
