Beyond Light Trailer 5 - Europa

<If you're like me, then you would've been a little skeptical of how little the marketing for Beyond Light is. Well, while that may still be relevant, this one trailer has me more excited for the DLC than any other outside of the initial cinematic prologue and the gameplay trailer that dropped with it. Not saying the Stasis trailers were bad, but this is just a million times better. Anyway, some things were seen, let's get into it. 1. Europa at night is creepy 2. Variks is back. While initially hinted at in the lore tab for the Rimed Shell (the pre-order exclusive), it's now confirmed that he'll play an ACTIVE role in the campaign. This is good news. He seems to be against Eramis, which is also good news. Who am I kidding? I missed the bloke. Variks's model has also seen some recoloring. His grey mechanical arms are now bronze. The rest is a bit hard to see due to lighting. 3. The Europan Pyramid does not seem to be an actual location. Instead our attention seems to be focused on the surrounding region and a massive structure that shares the Pyramid art style. This "Pyramid Fortress" contains at least one underground chamber and one aerial. The Vex seem to be swarming it, likely out of curiosity. 4. Pyramid "shards" as I'm going to call them are spawning. These diamond-shaped objects have an unknown purpose, and one even pulsates with small tetrahedral fragments. 5. The Vex have a new unit. What it's called is unknown. However, it resembles a biped with massive shield arms and a dozen blue tendrils. Its special attack is to fly into the air and dropkick enemies (seen at 1:23). It is unknown if it survives this attack or if it has any other moves. 6. The House of Darkness sport a mesh of D1 and D2 Fallen models, leaning more heavily on the D1 side. Wretches and Marauders, enemies not in D1, have also been updated to fit the D1 style, wearing undersuits and even having more armor (Marauders have leg armor like Vandals). The House of Darkness bears colors similar to the House of Wolves. The undersuit's secondary color is the same as the HoW, a dark brown. They also have a similar blue hue to their armor. Like other enemy factions in D2, their armor color changes depending on the type of enemy. For example, Minor (red bar) HoDa Fallen will have primarily white armor with some blue. Elite (orange bar) Fallen will have entirely blue armor with little to no white. It is unknown what Major (yellow bar) Fallen will have. Captains have the Darkness logo painted on their helmets. Each Fallen also wears some fur on their arms or backs. It looks comfortable as -blam!-. 7. Either we go very deep into Europa, or the Darkness is having some interesting effects on the moon's landscape. At 0:38 you see a Guardian jumping on floating blocks of ice around a monolith. 8. Europa (season pass?) armor has portions that will glow in the dark outside of the white lights. 9. As the Bray facility on Mars was called the Braytech Futurescape, the facility on Europa is called Bray Exosciences. This makes sense given the Deep Stone Crypt is here. 10. The House of Darkness are utilizing smaller versions of Insurrection Prime (also without the Black Armory tech). These seem to be mini-bosses of some kind, with the exception of a titanic mech seen at 1:21. 11. At 0:48 you see a Frame fighting alongside the fireteam of 3. 12. 0:52 is now a familiar scene to many people who've watched the trailer over and over. It seems an old theory based on a scannable on Nessus as well as hints here and there is now confirmed, the Vex have a hand in the creation of the Exos. While it is still unknown what Vex tech or what aspect of the Vex inspired the design of or process of making Exos, it is undeniable that there is a relation. 13. At 0:58 there is a new Fallen boss or unique enemy. This particular enemy is one that can use Stasis. This enemy has been seen before in earlier trailers, last time holding two Stasis crystals. However, we now see at least one of its new abilities, firing Stasis crystals out of its face like a damn Ogre. 14. At 1:05 there is another unique enemy or boss. This one can also use Stasis, as it slams into the ground and pretty much replicates the Behemoth Titan. 15. At 1:11 there is a maintenance vehicle last seen on Titan. 16. At 1:14 there is an absolute cluster-blam!-. The Vex are on top of a Pyramid structure, and a Vex gate can be seen in the top right corner. There's also another one of those new units. There are blue and orange diamonds placed around the map. Viewers have noticed that they are similar to the diamonds used in GoS in the Divinity puzzles. I looked back at some videos to check and it seems to check out. 17. At 1:18 the Stranger pulls out the Splinter of Darkness, an item I will be getting and promptly shanking myself with 4 times thanks to some hasty online bets. 18. At 1:24 is a Vex gate. Contrary to what appears to be popular belief, I do not think this is VoG related. This may instead be an importance campaign set or otherwise a part of the strike... assuming the strike has some Vex in it. That concludes things. I mean, I could've gone off more about the Pyramid Fortress, but not only would I be here all night speculating, it would also get really redundant as I went on praising Bungie's art team for making such cool architecture. Without further ado, hell has frozen over, but at least Beyond Light's shaping to be a bit more interesting than it initially let on.>
