Cross save screwed my account
I enabled cross save on pc last night to recover my Xbox account. Mostly in the hopes of retreiveing my legendary weapons I had ain the vault. Well, not only did it delete my Steam character, which I would be okay with if I could just use my Xbox character..but now with cross save enabled, I can no longer play with my friends in a fireteam. Anytime I join, it works for a minute and then they get kicked from the game with a popup that says "There may be an issue with your Bungie account." So, not only did I lose my current character, but now the game is pretty much broken for me. And I can't deactivate cross save since i bought Silver on my Steam account recently. Any ideas? Or do I just need to uninstall and move on?

Your Steam character wasn't deleted, it's just "dormant." Cross-Save doesn't actually allow merging of accounts or transferring of gear, it just lets you use characters from one platform on other platforms. I don't know why you're having those issues with your fireteam, but if you want to make the Steam profile your main one, you can use the form at the bottom of the following link to request that they change it: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=48099 It might take a day or two, since they only process requests during work hours.

Hey there! Your cross save is correct if you wanted to use your Xbox characters on Steam. Also, you have three deleted characters on Xbox with one having a couple hours of gameplay if that was you that has deleted them. Cross Save allows you to use your platform data on other platforms, which then makes those other platform data inactive. Cross save does not overwrite data as that is not what it is supposed to do.
