Forsaken Equipment

The theme with sunsetting caused a lot of questions from me personally and from many other players. If everything was in principle clear with outdated content, it was not entirely clear why and why they cut the light level for old equipment and equipment from a number of additions. With the weapons and armor of the same "Leviathan" we are forced to say goodbye due to the fact that the Emperor will soon fly away, but it is not entirely clear why the armor from the Forsaken expansion still has a maximum strength level of 1060 and why it disappeared from the engrams loot pool (except for the set the bugle of separation). The content of this add-on does not go into the content repository, then why is paid content being made irrelevant for complex activities? Will the maximum light level be increased in this expansion, and what can players hope for in the future?

  • The way sunsetting works is basically in-game items get a max power level that goes to the power level that will exist 12 months in the future from the season it dropped in. That is why everything from Forsaken is capped at 1060 because Beyond Light will be the start of year 4 and Forsaken-era gear are all year two, so they would be capped at the max power levels introduced in Shadowkeep. Bungie did make a late exception for the raid armor where that would be allowed to be infused up to the max expected at the end of year 4.
