Truth to power - Change the way to get entries

The way to get truth to power lore entries as it is right now has to be changed. Beyond light is getting closer every day and a lot of players including me have decided to go and relive some of the older content in the game to get some seals that will be going away in november. Most of the seals that are going away are till this day still doable, with some time and effort you can still get Blacksmith, Reckoner, Shadow and Wayfarer. But for a lot of people Chronicler is already a lost cause. And the only reason is the truth to power lore book and the 3 week waiting. There are people who will agree with me about this but there are also some people who will say things like 'You had two years' , 'you should have started earlier' or 'if you really cared you would have already done it'. Those arguments makes sense for people who had Destiny 2 since launch but there are also people playin this game who joined later, new light players who fell in love with destiny and decided to get all the dlc's and relive the forsaken year content. Or people who took a break from the game and came back and are now enjoying the game again. These people deserve a chance to still get this title. Bungie could make it so that you can get entries to truth to power by doing blind well. Or that you can get one page each week from now on instead of every three weeks. Getting a page each week makes the most sense because the Shattered throne dungeon is now also open every week of the curse so why shouldn't the queens court be. There are multiple ways they could change it to make it a little bit more favorable for the people who are still working to get this seal before november. If you agree with me upvote this post and maybe leave some ideas for bungie on how to change it! If you don't agree with me, thats fine of course. Leave a comment why not with some good arguments and let's discuss this in a friendly way! Lets hope that Bungie picks up on this and that they will change it to help those aspiring Chroniclers

  • I agree... and today’s 5 hour maintenance was just icing on the cake. Thousands upon thousands calculated that this morning was the last possible moment to get chronicler, and then Bungie takes what is traditionally a 15-minute maintenance and makes it 5 hours during the exact time that people needed it not to be.

  • I'm a fairly new player and didn't know almost anything when I joined... Think it was back in late may, early june. Back then, I was learning the game, doing the old story with red war, warmind and CoO, and I really got into the game. I bought the forsaken dlc and loved the story, and then wanted to try some raids, so joined an lfg and then a clan. It was these clan mates that explained the triumph stuff to me and the titles because I'd seen people with things under their names but didn't know how to get that or what they were. I picked some titles to start with ( dredgen and wayfarer) and started to work on them, and then also took on cursebreaker and chronicler too because they seemed interesting with the stuff you had to get to complete them, especially chronicler with all the hidden collectibles for the lore entries. I didn't really look into all the different lore books too much, just tried to finish ones that I had some entries for already, but when I came to truth to power, I had no idea it was time gated until I looked it up. Working it out, I didn't have the time remaining before the end of the season to complete this book, but that's fine because I could complete all the others, and then just earn the title a little bit into the next season, right? I mean it's not a seasonal title and hasn't gone away since it came in, so I had no reason to suspect this. The twab that came down to say that it was going away surprised me, but it made some sense seeing as some of the collectibles are on planets that are going away (I have those all now but didn't realise they weren't all on the tangled shore and dreaming city back then). Now... I fully understand that people don't want the title to be given to people, or even be earned in an easier way than they earned it, I agree with that completely, however it's very frustrating to know something you've been working on can't be completed, but only finding that out near the end. I'm not against grinding for this, I wouldn't be against them making the offering to the oracle bounty repeatable on high curse weeks, but requiring additional progress in the blind well for each additional bounty you take on that week. I feel like that's a fair trade for those that had to wait 33 weeks to complete it when it came out, and those of us who want to complete it before it goes away, I feel like doing far more blind well is fair? But would like to know what others think, and regardless, it's not like I can make the change, I just hope that I can complete the title because I've enjoyed the rest of the title, much more than dredgen :P

  • I am in a similar boat, though I don't know why. I visited the queen many times, and went many times after she left, and yet for some reason I am only on 3/11. There is simply no reason to void the seal for those who have already started it when the location to earn it is staying in the game.

If anything should have FOMO it's a title. Seasonal titles go away. As does Chronicler. Bungo please keep it rare. Don't nerf Chronicler.

  • Instead of complaining about it taking a while to get entries, maybe actually just do the damn thing? Everyone else who had chronicler, including me, did it this way.

I 100% agree with you. I played D2 at launch, took a long break, and came back to the game this this spring/early summer. One of my favorite parts about the game since coming back has been the lore. So I really wanted the Chronicler title to reflect that. It was going to be my favorite title that I would wear all the time. I really enjoyed the countless hours I spent on the scavenger hunt for all the other lore books for the seal, but discovered too late that the Truth to Power book had a 33-week timegate. I learned about the the double-lore exploit even later. I was unable to do it this week due to the maintenance. As it stands, I am at 6/11 entries, meaning I will be at 10/11 when Beyond Light launches, unless something is changed, and that's assuming there won't be any more maintenance during the other two high curse resets. Many other people are in this exact same situation. It seems like Bungie is being really kind lately in regard to helping people complete things before they go away. They just this Tuesday gave out the Braytech Osprey as part of the Exodus quest. They added duplication protection to the Sleeper nodes to help people get Warminded. Bungie, if you see this, will you please consider making Truth to Power entries obtainable every week, rather than just every third? This wouldn't make the title easier to get, or cheat out those who already worked hard to get it. It would still require the same number of hours in-game to get. The same number of visits to the Queen's Court. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

            • I’m finishing Blacksmith and shadow seals and started on reckoner. And collected all the lores this week for chronicler but didn’t know about truth to power which made me feel like I wasted my time collecting useless collectibles for nothing. I know people would say it’s unfair but we already put the work to collect the lores and farm for them so it’s not like we got them for free.

            • I have the same problem, i need at least 9 weeks to complete this, but in exactly 9 weeks the chronicler is going to be extinct. I've been grinding this since months

What they should have originally done was integrate a catch up mechanic... every 3rd week, each weekly Offering bounty should have accumulated. If you miss a week, there should have been 2 the next week and so on. So anyone missing any of this lore book, every 3rd week you should have N number of bounties available for every N number of lore entries you’re missing.

            • As much as I agree with you, unfortunately Bungo won't do anything about it cause they don't care and have more concern things to concentrate on.
