So explain to me why players like this can match solos in PvP

The other day I was just farming tokens in PvP by using boons. I was preparing for a potential loot pool refresh in Beyond Light. Then I came across a game where I was with a friend and we had 4 solos. We matched a stack of 6 players. These players all had inflated stats, haven't solo queued or lost a match in months, were running a strict meta loadout, and were coordinating like they were in a tournament. They all had autos, paired with either Revoker, Beloved, or a shotty, and Wardcliff Coil. They also deliberately allowed my team to cap all three zones so they could farm us and their stats. They are able to do this because no matchmaking system, SBMM or CBMM, can possibly give them a decent fight, as indicated by their game history. These guys won 100% of their matches last season with SBMM enabled. I won every single one of my 1v1 engagements, but I had only a handful of those. Virtually all my fights were 1v3 or worse. I performed best on my team and only had a 0.6. Upon inspection of the players (https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/psn/iMisyz_/matches), it seems like not only are their stats inflated, but also some have not solo queued ever and do this same tactic exclusively to get several hundred match long win streaks. Some also have a K/D of 90+ in Trials with less than 1 kill per game on average and a lot of Trials wins with zero kills. So I personally shrug stuff like this off and move on. But what about my teammates? What about the other players this team matched? Go ahead. Track them. What you'll find is most of those players did not enter PvP again. Players like this, considering their intention and method, are griefing and are actively reducing the PvP population. Not to mention their impact on Trials. So tell me, why are players like this allowed to match solos, if play at all considering the stats and griefing? A matchmaking system to make teams like this match similar teams has to be implemented.

Update since I can't edit my post: The original image was removed and all the players now have put their history on private. I wonder why...

The YouTuber cabal including but not limited to Cammycakes, Fallout, Mtashed, Coolguy et al collectively whined with coordinated videos of complaints against SBMM. Sweaty games they cried, forgetting they're sweaty, skilled players. The sheep duly followed their instructions. So Bungie heard a whole load of bleeting and in a desperate bid to what they think is keeping certain players content did the absolutely idiotic move of removing fair competitive matching. You couldn't make this stupid stuff up, you really couldn't. I would formerly tend to hate those who leave games in PvP or Gambit but now, I'd recommend everyone does it, all the time, at the slightest indication of ridiculous mismatches. Or just stop playing PvP altogether until if or when Bungie undoes some of the layers of damage they've inflicted to the game as a whole and for solo players especially - their paying customers they least give a shiztsu about.

I'm a solo and I'm average at PvP. I've had several really bad experiences against stacks, and I don't want that frustration anymore. When I see a 4 stack in the roster and after landing it's in the enemy team, I give it a try. When I see a 5 stack in the roster, I wait and see if they're on my team. If not, I leave the match (5 stacks are pretty much never on my team for some reason). When I see a 6 stack in the roster, I immediately go to the change character screen to abort the match loading.

    • Just leave. It's the only thing you can do against assholes who play Clash in Control and dog pile on everyone as they run around the map with their sweaty teammates. If you stay to get kd farmed by them then that's on you.

Because Destiny 2 streamers have to get matched against small children to look good for their viewers, thus roping said viewers into this infinite downward spiral of bad content we call a game banking on the idea eventually those viewers will buy something from Eververse. All a vicious cycle, and there's pretty much nothing we can do about it considering there are so many mindless fanboys that trying to start a boycott is borderline impossible at this rate.

      • When I get to play against teams like that, I just leave, and so many others. There is nothing to learn when you spend your time being massacred. Little league can’t learn from being massacred by pros. If enough people do this, well maybe something happens. We need a freelance or sbmm option for solo players.

          • I had a group do this to me as well. They had a 6-stack, ran autos, revokers, ect, and they didn't ever go to cap the points. We lost to them hard, and i sent one of them a message saying, "This isn't hatemail, or complaining. I just wanted to know why that much sweating was needed in quickplay?" and the response I got basically said, "We weren't sweating. We weren't even trying. This game gives us no challenge." Like if they game gives you no challenge go play something else! There are some people that actually play quickplay to have fun and relax not have to sweat our asses off. I even asked them why they don't play comp and got the same thing. "It's not challenging enough and we're all already maxed Glory."

            • They're important, dedicated PvP players that deserve to have matches against solo players to ensure that their PvP experience remains enjoyable. For the solo players, they should look on the experience as a positive. I'm sure that getting stomped will have immeasurably helped them to improve their game. They've likely made a contribution to yet another "watch us stomp these solo noobs" montage as well, which is pretty much all Bungie want solo PvP players to be doing anyway.

              • It’s a risk we all take going in, just brush the match off like you did, I’m sure the others will try again another time. If I see someone that had it especially rough I’ll send them a msg of encouragement and let them know it’s not always like that, sometimes they reply sometimes they don’t, but it helps.

I have bookmarked this thread, so I can link to it in future discussion topics where people argue for CBMM. If SBMM was driving these games, your experience could never happen.

                  • That wasn't us, but when we 6 stack we try not to cap zones because it will just be a mercy almost every game, which isn't fun for anyone either. Blame bungie for their matchmaking, or lack of it. SBMM sucked. CBMM sucks. There does need to be a middle ground somewhere.

                    • Only wat to stop this is a pick between cb or sb like with halo. Most newand casuals will choose sb based of previous pvp experience or they wanna have fun and know 50/50 chance. Let streamers and higher level players have there cb. Before i get some bs population aint big enough pnp is almost always well in double digit thousands on a daily bases.

                      • Disgusting. Just leave if you see players are intentionally farming. I think I was on the other side of that last week. Got paired up with 5 great players, could not understand why I was the only one capping zones, but yet we were still winning. Soon players on my own team were punching me in the face every time I got on a zone. All makes sense now. They wanted to prolong the stomp.

                      • They're pathetic sociopaths but honestly, I don't know what could be done about this. Even with strict team vs team matchmaking, they would still probably stomp most teams as well. If there are people whose lives are so empty that their hobby is pub-stomping in "elite-college-team" vs "random-junior-high-kids-in-a-park" style matchups it really can't be stopped if they have no shame, unfortunately. Just part of toxic FPS gamer culture. This type of shit doesn't exist much in the "real" world.

                        • These type of players are just sad, but there's nothing that I can think of that could prevent this. Having equaly large fireteams on both sides maybe, but matmaking will take forever when you do that. I don't think the population is big enough for that. These type of players are just toxic. It kills pvp for a lot of players.

                          • Unfortunately, you got (stat) farmed/pub-stomped.
Players like this, considering their intention and method, are griefing and are actively reducing the PvP population. Not to mention their impact on Trials.
Yes...and that's the problem. The people who behave like that only care about their own "fun", and don't stop to think (or simply dont' care) that their behavior is destructive, and it ruins the fun of others. Thus driving them out of the playlist, and slowly destroying the game.
So tell me, why are players like this allowed to match solos, if play at all considering the stats and griefing?
Because Bungie has their own agenda that is blinding them. They are so focused on "community building" and creating other social systems, that they lose sight of the fact that they are encouraging this kind of toxic behavior....and that its not fun to be on the receiving end of. Which is why player numbers always go down when the game reverts back to CBMM and average players get subjected to this kind of crap.

                            • You may want to thank Bungie for that, with the change from SBMM to CBMM. The majority of solo players that used to play during SBMM just stopped playing PvP when Bungie changed to CBMM and, obviously, the PvP population has decreased. This has happen before, nothing about it is surprise.

                              • The CBMM is terrible and has not fixed lag related issues but instead pits me against players that get a 20.0 KDA in Rumble or 59 kills in Clash. I cant really imagine that it is very fun for the stompers or the stomped. What they need to do is show who is in the lobby like they do Iron Banner so if we see a six stack we decide to nope out.
