Exotic weapons and there ornaments are part of what makes exotics exotic. Shaders have no buisness on them

Take into account an ornament like Deathbringer's that just murders its original look.
-
Yeah I hate the ornament for it, actually forgot about it but it’s a good reason why I hate the idea
-
Huh, at least you're consistent. But if it was a feature that got added, it'd simply help 93% of the playerbase, and the rest of you can just choose to ignore it. Exotics feel a little less unique/special when everyone is running around with the exact same Exotic. Like multiple Ace of Spades, or Last Words.
Huh, at least you're consistent.
Exotics feel a little less unique/special when everyone is running around with the exact same Exotic. Like multiple Ace of Spades, or Last Words.
I find it the opposite for a few reasons. First off what makes exotic weapons unique is the fact that the way the weapon looks is set in stone. I actually wasn't a huge fan of ornaments for them way back in D1 but for the most part i think they do a good job of showing an alternate look for the exotic In a manner how it should look. Examples: Ace of Spades ornaments still make the gun look like Ace of Spades and Last Word ornaments still maintain the western revolver look. Deathbringer ornament does not maintain the look of this hive crafted... well death bringer. And I know the same could be said about shaders however to me there is only one of the majority of exotics, one death bringer, one lumina, one ruinous effigy. Seeing other people run around with their green lumina would look cool sure but to my mind it shouldn't exist. Again im perfectly aware Im in the minority and If the masses want It then so be It. I don't wanna stop people from enjoying the game the way they enjoy it. Simply stating how I enjoy it from a different perspective
Exotic weapons and there ornaments are part of what makes exotics exotic. Shaders have no buisness on them
So exotic armor pieces dont feel exotic because they have shader capability and ornaments? That is the single stupidest take I have ever seen and I remember see gothalion admit he was the one who proposed making infusion "meaningful"
-
I never said exotic armor shouldn’t have shaders. You’re a clown if you wanna compare armor and weapons lol
-
This is a bad take
Exotic weapons and there ornaments are part of what makes exotics exotic. Shaders have no buisness on them
What!? We can put shaders on exotic armor with and without an ornament... we can also put shaders on legendary weapons that have an ornament equipped. In an action mmo we should be able to customize and personalize as we see fit. How boring is it if everyone had the same exact looking exotic?
-
If a weapon looks exotic only because of its color, it doesn't look exotic. Exotics should have impressive frames, ornaments should change frames, and shaders should change color. If you don't agree you dont have to use the theoretical slot that 93% of people want, according to this post.
-
I never said only its color is what makes it look exotic although that is a part of it. Its color, shape, texture and unique shape/design do. Shaders change the color, texture and make the exotic not unique. I don't care if 93% of people on the Bungie forums of all places disagree with me. Im stating my opinion not theres.
-
But if what they want happens, it doesnt stop you from not using shaders on exotics so why be vehemently against that feature being an option?
-
Because that feature takes away from exotics, you are aware that Destiny loads in other player models as well? I think it would be stupid. If Destiny allowed you to replace your guardian with a fortnite character why would anyone be against It if they can choose not to use the feature?

-
It does to me which is why I commented on a post asking about opinions on the topic. If you can’t handle someone having a difference of opinion the internet is gonna be rough for you
-
How does changing the color of an exotic take away from it exactly?
-
I'll use an example. Thorn is a hive infused hand canon responsible for killing countless guardians and characters like Tyra karn are disgusted by us even making a copy of it. Now its a pink bad dragon. No thanks
-
Edited by ACROCANTHUS: 8/15/2020 12:24:34 AMIt still looks like thorn, you still can tell its unique frame and shot sound. Its still a thorn, being pink doesn't take away from that. Especially if your's isn't pink.
-
I think it does, hence my dislike of the idea.
-
Well, 93% of people disagree that it takes away from exotics. If someone wants to run a pink thorn it really doesn't degrade your experience at all. More customizability is good.

I think it does, hence my dislike of the idea and me voicing my opinion on a thread asking for opinions.
