That’s because players quit, and they quit for good.
A falling playerbase number isn't proof for the fact to say that whenever people "quit" they always quit for good. The only way to proof that theory is to monitor how hard the playerbase number drop and raise again. It's the long term statistics that needs to be looked at for someone who wants to make assumptions like yours. And btw. I looked up many game histories of people doing these nonsense "I quit" posts and so many people appear again when new seasons or expansions come out. These special "I quit" snowflakes don't quit, they only want attention.

The devs have talked about it in the past at the streamer summits. 2) I never said always, it would be unreasonable to use hyperbole. That’s also why I would also never say “you’ll be back” to a player giving the feedback that they are quitting the game. Just because I know some players will come back, most haven’t. 3)It’s good for players to give Bungie feedback, including that they are quitting, and this forum is how they do it. That information is important to Bungie, it helps them improve the game over time. I hope, and believe Bungie does, that there are changes in the future that bring players back who leave negative feedback about what makes them quit the game. No one else is Involved in someone else’s choice to quit the game or come back, so interjecting yourself as some kind of critic of other players feedback isn’t helping anyone.
