Disagree. I still have D1 loaded up on my Xbox, and I occasionally play it for shits-and-giggles. Fact is that Destiny 1 is a game that is slow and clunky compared to Destiny 2. D1 had better loot, a better progression system....and better PvP (personal preference) than D2. But Destiny 2 is a better game in every OTHER way. Combine those superior D1 **systems** with D2's superior game play and content, and you have the recipie for the great game that most people sense is possible.

I know this is a troll post, but it's hilarious that you have less than 2,000 Grimoire score, deleted all of your characters, and have only played a total of 40 activities throughout your entire D1 career since starting in 2014. https://destinytracker.com/destiny/overview/xbox/kellygreen2 Talk about confirmation bias.

  • Is this guy on something? The most important things about Destiny that make a game is in D1, he listed a couple of them and he said D2 is Superior? 🤣🤣🤣😂

  • One guy told me to play D1, and i did (with him, very nice guy) and it felt slow, like they are holding my hand and not letting me run.

  • There is a lot of nostalgia surrounding D1. It was never as good as many people know claim to remember, and D2 isn’t as bad as many of them insist it is.

  • That’s the Destiny community, and modern gaming. Destiny 1got treated the same way, which is why I just smh and laugh at all the love people suddenly seem to have for D1. When I know many of those same people complained just as bitterly about D1, and are just using it as a hammer to beat Bungie and D2 over the head with. Content creators and streamers make the problem worse, because they know negativity gets you attention and it sells better than positivity or simple fairness. So you have people who are bottom feeders who make their living bashing this game or the gaming industry in general. With a level of unfairness and mean-spiritedness that would make British tabloids blush.

  • I would also agrue better pve sandbox. In d1 damage perks aren't a deal breaker and primarys feel more powerful and usable. Scouts are actually good in d1

  • Disagree. There was a wider variety of perks, but the average weapon in D2 is more powerful now than the average weapon in D1.

  • You obviously have not played it lately. Go test a scout rifle now D1 or a Rocket Launcher... and more. You actually feel like you hold power again. Supers are twice as powerful too. Keep yammering about D2... it’s a gutted shell of what the last year D1 was!

  • Except in D2 we are way more powerful DPS wise. Primaries are stronger in D1 but in D2 people can spawn a literal god mode pool (Well of Radiance) and can melt everything. Very good teams can 1 phase a raid boss in less than twenty seconds. (https://youtu.be/UXdXQMyoTYo) People even said that if VoG comes back that the bosses will become jokes due to how OP we are. (https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/i6ssk8/bungie_resist_the_urge_leave_vog_alone/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)(check the comments) Why do you think that raids in D2 have become much more mechanic heavy than raids in D1 where some bosses were literally destroy x oracles/monitors, break shield with bomb or projectile(s) and then DPS. (Templar and Vosik for example). Some people in D2 have literally soloed GM Nightfalls which are the hardest activities in the entire franchise. Overall, We are weaker primary wise in D2 however we are stronger DPS wise.

Ding. Winner. And most of the "weaker" primaries are confined to weapon types (Scouts and Rockets) and specific archetypes (like 180 rpm HCs) that were either badly designed, or are being deliberately kept underpowered because Bungie wants to pressure us into playing more aggressively, and thus exposing ourselves to greater risk.

  • I believe I said average. You pick the two most underpowered weapon classes in all of Destiny 2. Go compare Recluse to anything in D1, if we’re going to play that game....
Disagree. There was a wider variety of perks, but the average weapon in D2 is more powerful now than the average weapon in D1.
In d2 you can't kill a acolyte with a 150 scout. In d1 180 scouts easily ohk acolytes. Snjpers hit harder back in d1. D1 weapons didn't need damage perks to be "good". Crowd Control was nice on a scout but wasn't a nessesary. My dire promise can't ohk a vandal in the eaz, d1 hc could do that. In terms of heavy weapons and exotics d2 is better. But not legendary weapons. The Crit nerf back in shadowkeep did alot of damage. Rocket Launchers in d2 feel weak and only hold 1 ammo compared to d1 launchers that held 3 rockets.

  • And you are using weapons that Bungie is INTENTIONALLY keeping underpowered because they don't want us engaging in the campy, cheesy play styles that many of us used in D1. Where we'd turtle in some safe part of the map and then plink away at enemies with SRs and Snipers. In two seperate interviews, I've read Bungie devs specifically mention that they reduced the killing power of SRs in order to "balance" the relative safety of being able to kill from long range (and I suspect its also why linear fusions and legendary snipers are underpowered in PVE as well). As recently as when GM Nightfalls were added to the game, Bungie spoke about not wanting to incentivize passive play styles. They wanted us moving forward and exposing ourselves to risk in closer range combat. Which is why I said the "AVERAGE" weapon. Not weapon types that Bungie is systematically keeping weak to discourage a play style they find undesirable.
