I just requested a refund for Beyond Light. I'm done.
SoH broke me. Forced PVP? No ornaments from last years SoH armor? I am so tired of not being able to play this game the way I want with the gear and weapons I want, and this was the straw that broke me. I just want to be able to equip the gear I like, the weapon I want, and play without being instantly nerfed as a result. Doing dailies is painful, as I have to use weapons and sub classes I dont like. Farming upgrade mats is painful as I now know you will nerf my gear at a whim later on and waste my time invested in master working them. Same with weapons. Whats the point of playing a game when I have to play YOUR way and not mine? Why should I keep paying you to tell me to stop having fun and use the gear and weapons you want?
I logged in yesterday, managed to grind out the blue gear requirements, and.... I just cant anymore. Its not fun. It feels like a second job. A responsibility or an obligation. Not something fun to do with friends or clanmates. Nobody I talked to is happy with this game, they just endure it, like an achy back or sliver in their finger, hoping it gets better. I am done hoping man. I'm just done.
I dont expect a warm welcome here, I just hope that some dev reads this, sees the real world consequence of poor game design and passes it along to somebody in charge. I feel like the abused wife of a relationship. Bungie keeps doing things that make me not like their game while saying how much they 'listen' the whole time. How much they 'hear' me and want me to be happy and know they care. Its clear you dont and never will. It should not be this hard to play a looter shooter. I quit WOW when it stopped being fun. I quit Overwatch when it stopped being fun. Now I quit Destiny when it stopped being fun.
This guardians eyes are down, permanently.

I like Pvp, but not the Destiny 2 way - a soulless fun-free grind. I too have stopped playing and I've played since the Beta. I now get my PvP fix on D1 when it's the Combined Arms weeks and on Halo MCC any other time.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I have walked away from Destiny many times. Games get stale and that mixed with the direction Bungie has been taking with Destiny people are going to leave. Leaving the game is the best way for fans to voice our disproval to Bungie and, though it won't be immediate, they will hopefully listen and make the changes that Destiny desperately needs.

Once you eat shit for awhile you kinda get a hankering for it. No one knows what a fun game is anymore. Rent Destiny and you will never have a vintage game day. Fun is being able to play a game ANYTIME you want. With or without friends. Being able to play it offline in bad weather internet outage. Having a good server to play together in without lag or hackers. Yeah, that's not this one.

I thought ok, I'm not doing the Trial runs, so is there anything that might be worth doing and realizes that the triumphs are also mostly tied to completing the armor. They half-ass put together Trials and now are pretty much punking people into playing it. I supported the players that wanted Trials back, but I personally never intended to play it. I don't think it has any business being part of this event. It's not just the grind, but the fact that your grind is meaningless as everything you work hard to achieve gets sunset or nerfed to the ground. Let them have fun with the dwindling numbers. This game will become like DCUO, a game that went from top 10, and over 300k players to 6k players. I'll be laughing at them if that happens :p

4 RepliesWould rather play Streets of Rage 4 than play Solstice of Heroes. GTA online just got another (free) new update . I'll be playing that instead of Solstice of Heroes as well. Once Cyberpunk 2077 comes out I'll be playing that too. Bounty overload, repetitive grind, having weapon choices forced upon me due to specific mods required to beat champions,Bungie ignoring the sunsetting backlash (Exotic sunsetting can't be too far away either). No way I'm pre ordering anything from Bungie....especially when the new light abilities put another bullet into the PvP experience with freezing players and throwing up massive barriers like some Fortnite feature. Future of Destiny 2 not looking like it will be very fun.

I’m only gonna be playing it cause I’m game sharing with a friend and he pre-ordered. If I wasn’t game sharing there ain’t no way I’d be spending a dime on that new expansion.

You're not alone...didn't even get as far as you did with SoH......I just started laughing when we landed on the SAME MAP as last year. I didn't even play the last season, but came back. Mistake. Nothing to do here.

See you in November, Guardian. Just take a break man. A nice long break, play other games and then come back when the expansion drops. That’s how Destiny is meant to be played, IMO. Yeah, I have issues with the game sometimes. And the last two seasons have been pretty boring, so as a result I haven’t been playing as much. But I know when Beyond Light drops, I’ll be back again.

Sorry I feel ya man, also the folks with the immature responses are the ones that have never paid a dime onto the game. I wasted over two hundred dollars for the super delux edition, and I wont receive anything till the day of or days after the new dlc drops. Unfortunately I cant get a refund. The fact that you pointed out and put bungie on blast for the bull crap they pull.

I was gonna preorder but delaying it kinda made my decision. And since it’s coming to game pass I’ll play it without spending a dime when it does finally release. Got enough bright dust for anything I could want when it comes out. If they want any more money from me, they’re gonna have to earn it

I pretty much exclusively dip into PvP and should an exotic quest come about i'll jump in. The forced playstyle and loadouts you really hit the nail on the head there. The beauty is that now the game is free to play I don't have the incentive any more to buy the expansions. I normally just wait till there's a sale or ask for it as a gift. I don't feel I'm missing out as much compared to D1.

Man this Solstice is indeed not fun and bs... friends talked me in to just do it on one character again so i went to grandma Eve and picked up the helmet... went to that boring (same as last year) EAZ and was like sigh... went back to the tower, got the other armor pieces and went sigh again and logged off... went to bed and when i got up this morning i again had a big sigh when turning on my PS4... I just can’t do this event it’s to much boring bs and i got burned to much last year...

To keep our community engaged and exited for BL, but it’s had the opposite effect by releasing rehashed copy and paste content. Those that did it last year which will be probably 3/4 of the player base are not happy including me. Same as last year forcing us to play the same strikes, playing the same old tired gambit maps it’s a joke. But I can’t see any one laughing, oh I do Bungie are because they didn’t have to do any work!

Original beta d1 player here, returning after playing a month of d2 and generally knowing th game sucks compared to d1 in it's better days (imo, of course, everyone has tastes). To be honest, all the shit you're complaining about is dumb as hell. Trials should be normal, and it should go back to og trials where only men entered the lighthouse. Besides that, seems like most of the shit here isn't actually about the game, but more reflects what you've become as an addict. If you agree with this post, chill the -blam!- out and stop playing the game. Bungie isn't satan, you're literally destroying yourself by your own hands. It has very little to do with destiny and a whole lot to do with your mental health.
