ib is populated because the quest did not lock rewards

and that brought in players that would not have bothered. lets hope quests design follows this in the future.

    • Yep. Only activity present that offered new items (2 weapons) and 4 pinnacle bounties in a game that has been pretty stagnate this past year. The CBMM made the event less fun to play to be sure but seriously, what else besides the 2 weapons was there to chase after?

A 600 primary auto with good base stats and possible great rolls. 2nd - most people hit the cap of 1050 very early due to AFK forge farming and are working on pinnacle power. The 4 pinnacle bounties were not hard and a easy boost. Next IB i would be surprised if even half the amount of players some people are stating show up. Personally i had no fun playing IB the go around. I did run all 3 characters through it over the course of the week. I did end up with a decent roll on the forward path and have absolutely no ambition to go into another anytime soon unless they have another good weapon for the taking.

        • I will say it was a bit too easy though. Maybe 50 and 50 next time. Otherwise yea this was much much better.

          • Numbers always go up after DLC is announced. People come back to get ready and stock resources. Guaranteed it's not "record numbers". I stay familiar with playerbase numbers and the current numbers are nothing to brag about. It's a slight increase, probably due to the reworking of old IB weapons and the aforementioned getting ready for DLC.

            Actually, if anyone had followed the figures over the last couple of years you would know that this IB spike is no different to other IB spikes. I don't care what lame articles with piss poor research by morons masquerading as journos say, the narrative of 'this IB is a PvP revival' is simply wrong.

            • I ONLY played for the rewards. As an average player CBMM sucks, way to many mercy rules. I was on both sides, but more often the losing side. The people who say you only learn from better players is BS. I lean NOTHING from having my head bashed in, other then frustration. I understand the upper level players did not like SBMM for 3 reasons. 1. long waits to find teams of their skill level since there not as many of them. 2. They don't like having to play others of their skill level it hurts their K/Ds that they can inflate stomping us. 3. The streamers can make videos showing what game "gods" they are by appering to kill with such ease. Once again CBMM SUCKS, but give it a few months and it will revert back. this is the cycle Bungie does.

              • It did lock rewards. It was just a quick easy quest. It locked that autorifle and sidearm behind it. It was just super easy and fast to do. As well as the older IB gear with the not new season symbol is getting capped at the end of this season so people have to refarm the same guns with the same rolls for next season. It had nothing to do with the quest design for why it got so populated this time.

                  Yes it was good because pinnacles never have been that easy to get. It was far away from fun but quick done. With half the matches beeing mercied you get a lot matches done.

                • It’s only populated because there’s 12 easy pinnacles to get to 1060. It’s always the case for the first IB of this seasonal model.

                    I played all week because i mostly got good connections, before it was so laggy i really didn’t want to touch the mode after completing my bounties, same goes for the people i play with... Even some friends that barely touch pvp jumped in because for once you could play with a fireteam that had different skill levels and the ones below average didn’t get crushed game after game due to their friends skill rating, and didn’t have to deal with lag on top of it.

                            All of year one and two also didn’t lock rewards. They weren’t as popular as this weeks. It had a lot more to do with CBMM.
