Incredibly Unpleasant
As feedback, this latest round of iron banner is THE SINGLE MOST unpleasant multiplayer experiences I've ever had, and I used to play Quake 1 on a 9600 baud modem. I hate nearly every choice you have made and *never* want to engage with it again.

I just played about 20 games of IB and only 2 or 3 didn't end with a mercy, not really competitive??? "And like that, their lead grows" Possibly worst IB ever...

Someone says "this is the worst iron banner ever" literally every single iron banner. In my experience, this was the best iron banner since D2 released.

8 RepliesSome of my friends straight up are avoiding PvP right now cause of how bad it is. Yea sure its fun if you're a sweatlord and like to stomp weaker players. On the other side its extremely frustrating... players should be matched against others of similar skill level.

That is when devs couldn't even imagine catering noobs and casuals and implement a artificial system to create a fake sense off an even playing field, then why do you take that game as an example? Are you mad about the loot or CBMM or both? If it's about the reason they removed SBMM then how the hell did you survive this long? From Quake to UT3 and from the MW2 to Team Fortress and from Halo to CS if you were shit you got destroyed! If you had shit internet you would lag, nothing more and nothing less. With SBMM if you had a shit connection it could even be benificial, lolz.

11 RepliesUK player here and still being matched with Russians, Nordic, Eastern European’s & Asian players. I certainly ain’t seeing better connections, especially with European players. The lag from the Mediterranean and German players is the worst of the lot. I’ve yet to see a German player who doesn’t lag their ass off. Unreal. I’ve full fibre to the house, hard wired to the router.

I think catering to a small minority of top tier players who dont like to have to face off against top tier players like themselves at the expense of all other players is terrible. Bungie needs to address the matchmaking. But dont have the time for a real fix to deal with connection issues at the high end while making the quickplay experience or IB enjoyable for all players. Steamroll matches..win or.lose arent fun when you have to.play every game like theres a fire in the living room.

6 RepliesYeah same... Iron banner is awful. So many cheaters also it's hard to enjoy it. Also only reason I'm playing it is because of the pinnacle drops of course. Once I'm done with pinnacle quests not touching it.

12 RepliesIt’s crazy how experience are so different. I respect that it wasn’t fun for you. But this was the most fun banner I ever played. I think a year of sbmm was enough torture. Cbmm for an above avg to good player is soo much fun. Yes my kd/kda has improved. But to me I just enjoy shorter que times and better connections. I still face unbroken/ flawless teams, just not every match like before. Plus the other team usually has its own slayer so it’s just a race and who can kill the fastest and I find that to be very enjoyable. I hope the experience gets better for you.

I'm terrible at pvp but banner has always been fun. Oh tryhards this isn't the account I played on so screw looking me up.

I was in a stacked team. It was fun!!!! We purposefully avoided other stacks. Farm the KD for our imaginary mlg tournament. The solo scrubz need to git gudduh. We’re just friends that want some chill games crapping on people. Tbags are for those sweatlords that beat us with skillz. I average 2 kills a game because of mercy the other team. Bungie needs to increase the score threshold so I can farm noobs. Sorry but not sorry blame Bungie/s

29 RepliesYou have played 405 matches in Destiny 2 PvP. Even with SBMM enabled, you have a 0.59 lifetime k/d. Now, with SBMM disabled, you are exposed to a broader population of players. You learned bad habits playing bad players, and now it’s worse. Why should bungie tune their PvP matchmaking to try to appease bottom 10% players?

2 RepliesAlways loved IB. Hated this one. Did my pinnacles on all characters and was done. Didn’t even care or try by the third character anymore. Worst balancing of matchmaking ever imo. Just saying that with averaging a 2.0 k/d / 2.5 ka/d and ending up in the bottom 5% elo 😂😂😂😂. Don’t know how the team were made but the other team always seemed stacked compared to my team who got farmed. Seriously by the time I got to my 3rd character I stopped trying and just went about the motions to get my pinnacles and didn’t care if I did bad. Morale tank was empty.

PREACH. Totally there with you but have been for much longer. The PvP in D2 (didn't play D1, am on PC) is utter trash. I've played PvP fps games since the 90's: Wolfenstein 3D to be precise. Regional champion for Descent 1 multiplayer, official clan member for a Quake 1 team.... I know PvP fps games. I've never been top tier (well, except Descent) but can say from decades of experience that Crew-dribble is just awful, mechanically and socially.

I agree. Their match making is horrible! I have never had so many games end by mercy rule than I have with this ib. I realize more people have played this ib than ever before, but how many of those people actually enjoy it? Are they just doing it for the easy pinnacles? There is not enough data, but I would bet it's all about the pinnacles.

2 RepliesAgreed. Of my last 10 matches, 9 were losses, and 4 of those mercies. If CBMM truly matched people randomly based on connection, why are so many people getting repeatedly stomped? Why are “better” players always stacked on one team? I have always loved IB (and I hate PVP) and could barely get through the bounties this time. Very sad.

I agree. I probably won’t play IB or Crucible again. It was absolutely no fun whatsoever. I know I’m not a great PVP player, but I was respectable when matched with people of my skill level. This is nothing but torture now. RIP.
