No SBMM and the disabled community

The primary reason my family and I play is non-competitive Crucible modes. We could always hop on for a few quick games and it was fun because the matches were usually even, so we all felt like we were actually contributing to the team effort - win or lose. My family is casual, they mainly play Destiny 2 to spend time with me because I can't do much with my disease. So we're all pretty low on the skill ladder. Often if I complain about lack of SBMM and getting stomped on and not having fun - I'm told by the community that the answer is to "get good", which will happen by playing against the top players. The problem is that I have an autoimmune disease that has caused extensive peripheral and central nervous system damage. My reaction time is slow and my hands shake. It doesn't matter how much time I spend practicing I'm never going to "get good". Removing skill based matchmaking has absolutely ruined the Destiny experience for us. It is a truly awful change that caters to the minority elite players and leaves the disabled, casual, or any below average player behind to get pounded into the dirt or search for another game where we can actually participate and have some fun.
