Why can Arrivals armour use SOME Season of Dawn mods?
EDIT: Bungie has made a change so all dawn mods can be used in arrivals armour (although they still haven't changed the mod socket description)
All Season of Arrivals armour states it can only use seasonal mods from Seasons 10-12 (Season of the Worthy, Season of Arrivals and Season of [REDACTED]). However, the same armour will also accept the mods Taking Charge, Shield Break Charge and Empowered Finish - Season of Dawn (Season 9) mods. See linked images for an in-game view of this.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in any patch notes so my questions are:
* Why are these Dawn mods available at all in the Arrivals armour? Was this a deliberate exception to make Charged With Light builds more viable this season?
* Will other future armour sets be able to equip these same mods if the Charged With Light mechanic persists into Year 4?
* Will there be any reason to hold onto older seasons armour sets if the mods from that season are going to work in the new armour anyway (even though the game explicitly says otherwise right now).
This all fits into a larger discussion about armour sunsetting etc, but the feedback here is that the seasonal mods system is at best unclear, and in this case is downright contradictory.
Here's to hoping how seasonal mods will work going forward will be made clearer.
