I thought I had theory about which direction the Doritos ships were coming, but I think I just have more questions.

First off usual terms and conditions apply here. Just a theory. I'm not expert on space flight and planetary orbits. If I use the wrong terms or use certain terms incorrectly I'm just explaining it the best I can. We all agree the 2D map in the bunker is just a rough estimation of the their approach. The planets aren't all aligned as they are represented here, yes? I feel it's a better reference for the obvious weekly update. We'll talk about the Io holo-map Rasputin showed to Zavala in a moment. Some quick searches shows the consensus is the Destiny universe takes place roughly 700 years in the future, yes? (By all means if this is inaccurate let me know. Couple hundred years would make a huge difference as far as planetary orbits.) I got curious as to what where the planets would be in their orbit roughly 700 years in the future, so the year 2720? So my crazy ass found this: https://www.solarsystemscope.com/ Pretty cool little thing. highly interactive. There is likely a better one out there this was just one the first one in the search results. But it does allow the user to adjust the time and therefore the alignment of the planets and their orbits. After a bunch of clicking on the calendar I got this: Sol system 2720 *galactic center for reference. And: Sol System 2720 "top-down" view *again white arrow indicates galactic center for reference. Then I compared it to this: Io Bunker holo map So about that holo map. I guess the question(s) becomes: 1. Does the holo map represent a sort of "battle map" for reference? 2. If so it only represents a snapshot and not to scale. 3. Did Bungie design the holo-map irrespective to what the actual planetary positions would be in the future? (I know, I know. Obvious answer is obvious but can we table that one for a moment?) The more I look at the Io holo-map there is no way that went meant to be accurate. I think we can attribute Neptune and Uranus being blacked out on the 2d map either due to not having strategic value and/or them not being in play due to their orbits? I know there is talk/leaks about them hitting Titan first and bungie removing Titan but there are quite a few things tied to Titan, thorn, ace of spades, strike, it's the second location we visit after leaving the EDZ during the campaign. So I don't see bungie removing it. Reworking it? Yes. which would be cool. (Also I have strong feelings about Sloan but I'm noting going into that here) We know Europa is on the big dot board but not lit up as of yet. Are the Doritos Ships moving in a straight line or is their course elliptical? I dunno. I'm sorry of this seemed rambling. I was trying my best to stay concise, I actually deleted a bunch of stuff as it was just too long winded. lol And also I'm kinda hesitant to post my theories because, I dunno they sound even dumb to me sometimes. Thoughts?

  • Overthinking it. Likely they’ll start at our furthest outpost, Titan.

So yeah. They are surrounding us. Like a dark circle closing in, and with every passing day the light grows ever so dimmer. Until one day. lights out... It seems pretty hopeless. After we use ALL of Rasputin's weapons on the Almighty, we have the Pyramids Coming at us with and we can do nothing now because we used EVERYTHING. And I see what you're saying about the maps being blacked out. You could definitely be right. But we'll see what happens. I personally hope we could go to the moon of Neptune or Uranus or even one of their space stations. (If it's possible) Oh and also. One of the best apps I used for simulation for our solar system would be an app called Solar Walk 2. It has the best quality for planet simulation I've seen. (So far)

    • A surrounding approach makes the most sense if The Armada wants to do a complete purge. Still say Nessus should get hit first.

    • Yeah, pretty sure they’re surrounding the entire system, on all angles. So when they pass a planet, they engulf it’s orbit as well. Which begs the question: Why haven’t we seen any at Nessus? It’s waaaaaay on out there, probably further than Pluto, but there’s not a single trace of em out there...

    • They’re surrounding the system. Also, why sloane Titan is my favorite planet though, and I doubt they’re removing ANY planet

    • <They are surrounding this system. One way or another, the battle between the Traveler and the Darkness was going to end in Sol. All the Traveler did by fighting back was delay the inevitable, now it is too weak to fight back, and all the Pyramids have to do is waltz on in here.>
