I am the first to call out Bungie when they appear greedy, lazy or make a questionable decision.
On this occasion I actually have to say Thank you.
My Wife today received a message when logging onto D2, apologising for the Watercress issue and providing 1000 silver as an apology.
This is appreciated, and a kind gesture on Bungie's behalf.
So, without belabouring the point, or adding anything that could be construed as a negative,
Thanks Bungie
Edit: As posted elsewhere. There was no intention to rub salt into the wounds of those afflicted by other issues. Just genuine shock at getting a refund for the season

It’s not a refund. It’s an empty platitude. A refund would be money back in my pocket. A meaningful gesture would be a refund AND 1000 silver to acknowledge that I was restricted from playing because of their error (which I DID receive- I actually didn’t believe they would do even THAT), so that I could play the next season for free, AND a nice big pile of upgrade materials (enhancement prisms, ascendant shards, legendary shards, glimmer, planetary materials, etc.). I know it’s unlikely. That’s why it’s unlikely I’ll be around after June 16 (when Disintegration is released). I’m just done giving money for seriously flawed product, regardless of it’s potential.

You're their ideal customer; gets f****d in the a** and says "thank you" lmfao
-
it's just an incentive to buy something that costs more than 1000, and to get you into the cash shop if you haven't gone in there yet it is less than $10 of virtual currency which costs them nothing to give away now if they refunded you actual cash that you could use for anything, that'd be different - that would be them giving up something meaningful to their bottom line
-
I agree it is something. I too got the 1000 silver. But to me, they should have just given us Heir Apparent which we had absolutely 0 chance of earning because the fix came in on may 6 and the games ended on may 12th. And to top everything else off, for me, my watercress/newt issues started on march 28. So from march 28 to may 6 unable to play only to see the last couple days of gg slip by, but hey, here's 1000 of our currency that you can only spend on eververse items now. To me that was a hollow gesture. But you are right, it's technically something
-
They gave you money that you could only spend with them. How is that not greedy?
-
...where’s mine!?!

I just wish Bungie would recompense players for all the times players have had their internet cutoff (especially during a global pandemic) due to Bungie's 'hybrid peer-to-peer' exposing Bungie customers' IP addresses to every salty sore loser who DDoSes because they can't handle being beat in a video game. ;P Or Bungie could just get dedicated servers. https://www.pcgamer.com/the-strange-science-of-destiny-2s-uniquely-complicated-netcode/

Another thought... of all the seasons to miss, this was probably the best one because other than the lore from The Lie it was a colossal snoozefest
-
That's not a refund--it's a couple of overpriced pieces of garbage from the in-game store.
-
What people dont understand is that 1k silver is the cost of the season. It IS a valid refund. You bought the silver and then bought the seasons pass with it.
-
Sounds like you got "store credit", not a refund. I'm glad Bungie did something for fans suffering from a crippling error, but I didn't pay silver for my pass. I paid real currency for the Shadowkeep Deluxe edition. They gave you something that would only be useful in their game. They didn't have to give you anything, so the gesture is nice either way.
-
Always good to see Developers compensate players for issues. As much as people rip on Raid:SL, Plarium are really good about doing that too.
-
Just curious. How did you contact them if they have no customer service and you can only send letters? Or is the watercress issue something they knew who it affected? Or did you use the forums?
-
Hmmmm so bungie kept your real money for a dlc that you could not access because of their in game issues and gave you fake currency back which costs them nothing ... and that is ok?
-
I want free silver 😃
-
Upvoted for using "belabouring".
-
If you’re having “genuine shock” getting a refund, credit isn’t due.
-
Haha 🤡🤡🤡

Edited by DuBChiri2: 5/29/2020 9:54:30 AMTfw bungie hands you silver instead of money.
is the image I used there? I don't see it. If not, just look up "unhappy patrick from spongebob" and find the one where hes staring at his bare hand angrily.
It may be store credit for the next season free, but to me that’s a good response from Bungie.

It’s strange how this slightly positive post chain is staying towards the top of the page when more negative posts with far more upvotes have been relegated down the list. Weird that....
-
Didn’t they not actually solve the Watercress issue yet? Only “identified a possible cause”. If I had a car break down from an unknown engine issue that made it undriveable, and legally they had to refund me for it (this is all it is, legally you are entitled to a full refund of the game for it not functioning) and gave me another if the same model as a “sorry”, without identifying the root cause of the initial issue, I’d be pissed personally.

So do you guys share one Xbox and gamertag?
-
10 bucks for what ive heard months? Isnt that the opposite of lazy?

Where's my freakin Silver, huh? Ive had several THOUSAND errors over the last 6 years!
