Darkness Subclass Quest on the arrival of the Pyramids:
Quest: No Going Back
Part 1: Final Contemplation
As the Pyramids arrive in Sol, the Veil and their master, The Darkness, reaches out to you.
You have known for a long time this day was coming, and The Emissary reminds you that whatever your decision, it cannot be undone.
New allies and enemies await you. The Emissary notes your bond will grow with allies such as Emperor Calus and The Drifter — but you will become an enemy of the Vanguard and the Tower.
Becoming a servant of the Darkness will change you from a Guardian of the Tower to a Ward of the Veil. Your interactions with all characters will be different, as they will recognise your allegiance.
Part 2: The Pledge
Having spoken to all parties, you now have a clearer picture of what your choice will mean to others.
The choice is yours, speak to the Vanguard to reaffirm your pledge to the Light, or steal away to the Pyramids and give yourself to the Darkness.
(Choose Dark)
Part 3: Cutting Ties
You have chosen to become a Ward of the Veil, and so the Light within you must be destroyed so you can accept the powers of The Darkness.
Your Ghost has been requested, it’s directive as an envoy between you and the Traveler means you cannot truly denounce the Light while it still exists.
Part 4: To Kill a Ghost
You must use a weapon of the Veil to kill your Ghost, separating you from the Traveler forevermore.
Once this is done, the Ghost’s shell will be used to construct a housing conduit through which you can harness The Darkness’ power.
Part 5: Audience
With your new Dark Ghost, you may now commune with the Darkness directly to receive your new powers.
Part 6: Reformation
The Darkness christens you as a Ward of the Veil, and offers you the first of many paths with which to wield it’s power.
-
Yeah... Id rather stay with the Light. But cool idea for a quest.
-
Neat idea. Tho i do kinda want a subclass for sticking with light, as usually choice quest offer a similar tier of reward regardless of choice.if we chose light we could possibly get either a pure light/kinetic subclass?
-
Hm. Neat stuff. I wrote something similar back in D1 but it involved a cave on Venus, breaking your ghost with your own hands and giving it’s light to a worm.
-
While creative, wouldn’t you have to kill yourself to relinquish the Light, in order to be born of Darkness?
-
We might be able to wield darkness, but never actually turn to the dark side. That just wouldn’t work.
