this is literal bullshit. takes 3 ascendent shards to upgrade exotic armor. of which takes weeks to get. n i can't just change my armor type to purple, because who -blam!-ing know why we have elemental armor!?!?!?!? no one... does nothing, but seperate mods... so now i have a full upgraded set finally, after months. and i'm at 99 mobility. no way to just add one point...nope, so -blam!- you bungie. im done with your worthless company. bad taste in my mouth.
halo reach was the best online game for console, BEFORE, they started erasing the modes and monitizing. one day i will hunt down every money hungry monotizing -blam!-
-
And it also gets sunset "Hey sucker remember that armor you wasted shitton of time to get with the right stats and spent a lot of materials to masterwork it?! Well -blam!- YOU throw it in the trash no ordeals for you, no raids for you, no trials for you. -blam!- off and give us more silver."
-
Just wait once players armor gets sunset and you loose just one piece throwing your whole build off making your stats trash and essentially theowing away all of your shards.

Bore
lord Shaxx is Tigerman - old
How is it taking you weeks to get 3 shards? I agree that changing the element should be a little cheaper, but chill with the exaggerations. -
Because they want you to spend money on the season pass. That’s actually one of my complaints and it’s a weird one, fortnite and apex battles passes do not award anything that actually help you in the game, whereas Destiny’s does. So if you want enough materials to upgrade all your gear, you have to get the pass or grind like mad.
-
Damn all this anger over 1 Mobility point. Yeet

Edited by longevity: 5/29/2020 12:08:44 AMbecause they built the game in a flawed manner and keep adding sledgehammer methods like this to keep scarcity in the grind the scarcity still rests around enhancement cores which are tied directly to /timeplayed they realized all of their other currencies were getting stockpiled by people who had nothing to spend them on except garbage recycing so they added scarcity for new xpacs they basically made legendary shards almost worthless, as well as crucible tokens, vanguard tokens, and anything else that people could have stockpiled, then they added ascendant shards and the globes - each globe effectively requires something like 100 cores which takes a crazy amount of grinding and /timeplayed to generate - they threw us a few bones with some bounties that give a shard and put some more in the battle pass the armor is made super grindy because they were out of content and grind rewards so they tied a mega grind into improving our gear - feels really bad at levels 8/9/10. Now it is about to get stupendously worse with sunsetting as everyone who is sitting on level 8/9/10 armor is supposed to regrind for new stuff this isn't power creep, it's just forcing us to throw away our hamster wheel rewards to hopefully motivate us to run a new wheel they care more about the live service micros continuing than anything else, they don't care if some people quit because they are convinced everyone will quit anyways if there is nothing to grind - so a grind will retain some of them
-
BoHuggabee you make some valid points and i agree that eververse should be removed from this game. But Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let’s get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta’aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

We want a Meaningful Choice apparently
bad taste in my mouth.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I never bothered upgrading an exotic past level 5 or 6 because I’d never have the stat rolls I preferred. And I knew as soon as I invested I’d get a better drop and the. Be out all kinds of time and investment. I suppose frustration with that whole process began around the time I started playing less.
-
"takes 3 ascendent shards to upgrade exotic armor. of which takes weeks to get." Spider exists and farming stuff doesn't take that long.
-
Edited by Swiftlock: 5/28/2020 2:59:47 PMI think the affinity change was a slick attempt by Bungie to have hardcore players unload their materials before pulling the Sunset bait-and-switch on them.
-
Elemental armor has been added because Bungie couldn’t add mods without crashing the game or getting frame rates down to zero, especially on consoles, but even on PC. Since then they added the option to reforge them, and as usual, thought: we have to charge players for our incompetence. Welcome to Bungie’s vision of Destiny.
-
And put shards behind 1050 nightfalls that the average player won’t do.
-
Right? Not like it will stop you from receiving massive dmg from end gsme enemies, won't matter 2 dried shits you're gonna eat it regardless 😅
-
Imho they should make it so exotic engrams have a chance to drop ascendant shards or masterwork gear once you have collected all exotics. And on top of that bring back d1 style three of coins. That way solo players have a chance to masterwork gear and it wont be such a defeating blow to get your stuff sunset.
-
Is masterworking even worth it?
-
I like how if you dismantle a MW'd armour, you DON'T get back any of the Ascendant Shards - THATS utter Bull.
-
It’s to increase the grind so we don’t notice a lack of content
-
It's because they want you to make meaningful choices. Which is hilarious to me, since D2 was founded on limiting player choice.
-
It is the way bungie controls you and makes the game horrible and not fun. You spend all your time playing forced shit modes you don't want to play to MAYBE get something you want. Armour was much better the other way, before bungle used it to control us and waste out time.
-
Edited by Sarah Rose: 5/28/2020 7:21:46 AMWeeks... I mean... try an hour or two... Been farming Master NFs all day yesterday to get exotics I want... I'm literally masterworking exotics I'm not using because my postmaster is full of Prisms and Shards... And before you complain, it isn't hard or slow at all... it's actually quite fun to do 13-14 minute runs.
-
Weeks to get 3 ascendant shards? LMAO!!!!!!!
-
"Meaningful" decisions that us mere mortals will never comprehend the logic behind.
-
Hey! I’d fight in my birthday suit if the game allowed it! Upgrading cost is really degrading! :D
-
It's a cheap and dirty way to keep you playing the game longer. "Want to experiment with a new build idea? Grind 3 weeks -blam!-."
