Rift feels more like a game than any other Crucible type, and SRL is literally just freeroam bobsled races with engines (which I'd watch in the actual Olympics anyway). Nah, we just got reflavored bounties and some new music (that slaps, to be fair). They could just slap on the old race tracks, toss in that sweet Rift map from Earth, and call it good.
I understand that they're all working from home, and I'm glad they're being safe, but events like these aren't conjured within a couple months time!

New (or recycled) content is hard. Shame on your for asking for it.
-
Takes effort and Bungie themselves are quoted saying "Making Content is Too Hard"

I totally agree with you, guardian. There were several things they could have done to make the guardian games more... olympic and game-ish.. Just to add to your srl and rift ideas: **Archery event- We already have the bows. Bungie could have made an event with moving targets that pop up and down (old schoolers think Duck Hunt) and whoever hit the most targets in a certain time wins. **Soccer/Futbol- The field is already in game, with goals that light up when scoring with the ball even. Another missed opportunity. **Dodgeball- Bungie already has the snowball throw mechanic in game. Tweak that by having one team run through an obstacle course, like maybe the one with the flames in the menagerie, and the other team throw balls on the sidelines. Or use a reskin of the soccer/futbol field or drifters gambit spawn lobby for a simpler setting etc.. **Sparrow freestyle- We have sparrows that can do all kinds of flips, and our guardians can already use freestyle emotes on them; why not see who can pull off the coolest techniques on a small course with different ramps etc... So yes, there were some missed opportunities with guardian games, and maybe they can take a look at some of these examples and build upon them for the next one, if they do bring it back w/ D3. It wouldve been a helluva alot better than the great bounty grind that we did get, imo.

How about Grifball?
-
Yep. Missed opportunities left & right.
-
Srl is wasted bandwidth and for the small minded.
-
I miss rift it was fun
-
I'm the Mighty Oddish, and I approved this message. They could have even reused the old SRL tracks, and reconfigured Bannerfall for Rift.
-
Totally agree. Also, I saw a post about a fencing PvP game mode which is essential scorched but everyone has swords.

Edited by holydracoeva: 4/29/2020 1:00:15 PMProbably can't bring back rift game mode because of the rift class ability. That game mode was bad anyways.

I’ve been saying add all d1 game modes and maps back for months and months. They don’t listen
-
Agreed! Was secretly hoping sparrow racing (if not SRL exactly) would be a guardian game event. It was one of the few things that would have gotten me to participate. After reading that GG is just another bounties grind, I’m not even going to bother.
-
I miss RIIIIIIFFFFT.

Funny how the minimal cash shop in d1 somehow paid for an extra mode, with multiple tracks. Yet the cash cow that is d2 Eververse can't even give us an armour set.
-
I just hope with the delay in the real Olympics, they can have time to add bounty grinding to them. That's must watch TV.
-
I agree, though there may have been some complications and bandwidth allocation issues involved.
-
Yea they really dropped the ball by not bringing back SRL for these guardian games. It would have been the perfect opportunity and it would have made this event 10 times better. But that's typical Bungie for you, always doing the absolute bare minimum, just barely enough to get by. Just an unbalanced medal system with laurels that are a copy of motes and another bounty simulator. Yaaaaaaaay.

Edited by KidSixXx: 4/28/2020 1:51:38 PMThose are great ideas! You'd have thought that Rift and SRL would've been no brainers, but most people play this sort of game because they suck at other kinds of games like racing ones. I think people who are PvE /PvP Royalty but who are garbage racers still would've complained about things not being "fair." This is what happens when you push people too far out of their comfort zones. I enjoyed playing Rift in D1 but I could see people not familiar with the game mode once again complaining about "fairness." So we're stuck with yet another bounty grind for the time being. I certainly hope Bungie is taking notes and decides to implement SRL and Rift in next year's games. If there are any.... We may be back to celebrating The Revelry at this rate.

just yes
