So my friend recently started playing destiny 2 for the first time like last week and I noticed when he logged in to start his adventure if destiny which I was o so excited for him to play through all of the campaigns I was very disappointed at the fact that he was just given 750 light gear and guns without having to do anything, I remember having that epic fight at the begging of destiny 2 at the tower falling off and making my way through the city. Then fighting the red legion and then grinding for that new sub class on all my characters, I just want to know what happened to making people do all the campaigns like you did in destiny 1? Or at least making them available to everyone regardless of completion or not? What happened to that grind you had to do. Day one players of destiny 1 have had to grind every campaign mission of destiny 2 but new players only have to do shadow keep and then get everything from exotic quests to anything they missed? This probably will go unnoticed but It just crossed my mind. I just wanna know what dev's think

All legacy campaigns can be picked up from Amanda Holliday in the Tower. The difference, though, is that your friend will not have the same vanilla D2 experience of starting with basic gear being lost or losing subclasses. He'll play the missions with what he currently has equipped and whatever he picks up along the way.
