<The Nine are Dark Matter entities who, for some reason have empty vessels made of 9 Ghosts, 9 Awoken, and a slew of other entities. Xur is a Jovian, a former human Golden Age colonist who "had a choice" in regards to their current state. We've only seen Xur, but there are more... somewhere. They are owned by 5 of the Nine. The other 4 don't associate with them.>
