I am not saying this to whine about people asking for something, I am truly wondering how so people run out of vault space, there are 500 vault slots.
all of my guns I use are on my characters, 7 per character, then I have my armor set with a few other sets, my vault has some extra armor from old iron banner and some legendaries with okay rolls, I delete exotics I don't use and just take them out of collection, I use like 40 vault slots.

You're 950 light still for a reason. You don't play enough to need the vault space.

I do play enough to use some, but not too much, I never cared about power level much, I go for stylish stiff more. I have 350 hours in d2 which I kmow isn't a lot but is still a decent amount. -
Decent amount is why you didn't fill your vault. It's ok.

True, also since I don't have anyone to raid with I don't have raid loot stowed away. I should find a raid team sometime. -

I have one page of vault weapons and a few extra armor pieces......how people could have a full vault is beyond me as well.

They convince themselves they need one of every set with every affinity for every character and 16 rolls of every single weapon ... ... ... you know, just in case ... ... ...

With the change in armor and mods you need to keep multiple sets with multiple affinities in order to maintain mods for older content because newer seasons armor won’t have the ability to use older mods. I’m using about 350 slots and I pretty much save and decent rolls on any weapon. Never know when it might be used later down the road. I mean the overflow/vorporal escape velocity I saved is pretty nice right now.

Weapons are being sunset so saving weapons for down the road wont be a thing soon. You also don't [u]need[/u] 20 different builds to beat content in the game. Usually 1 or 2 builds can get you through anything in the game -- even the further we get into seasons. I am not saying people shouldn't experiment with more than that for fun builds, or new seasonal builds, but to think you [u]need[/u] to keep every set with multiple affinities just isn't true. To think you can't manage [i]this game[/i] with a vault space of 500 slots is beyond ridiculous. You've pretty much started trying to create your own game within the game at that point. I doubt people have [b]ever[/b] even used half of what's in their vault.

500 slots would be great IF we could pull everything from collections, we can't so it's quite easy to fill up the vault. As soon as they let us know exactly what is going into retirement and when, all will be able to free vault space without having to think that maybe that 110 god rolled HC, or 450 auto, or 600 msg, will be awesome next season or not... ...not to mention all the armour sets over 3 chars, especially the raid ones where you can use certain mods that can't be used on other sets...

I hear ya. I actually realized that I didnt need 90% of stuff in my vault. Plus now there is weapon retirement, so I deleted almost everything. Now I have maybe 3 guns some exotic armor and gambit coins.

You asked a simple and honest question without judgement, presenting your perspective while genuinely inquiring as to alternate (and apparently, OPPOSING) perspectives. Upvoted merely to offset the incredibly petty and pointless downvotes, so you're not sitting at zero just because immature trolls need to assert their dickish behavior over their (apparently, CORRECT) opinions.

If he was genuine he would clearly understand how we have no space. I don't do raids or have trash non masterworked exotics in my vault. I cant imagine how much the struggle is with full raid or reckoning sets. I barely have any extra armor for my hunter or warlock and I'd be lucky to have under 400 items in the vault. Solstice gear, masterworked weapons, 1 of each element class item (usually solstice, IB, seasonal), high stat seasonal gear, high stat iron banner gear. I keep weapons I dont use if bungie ever decided to make them viable. I have great rolls on 110 and 140 hand cannons, 150 and 180 scouts, 340 and 540 pulses, 4 shot burst pulses, some sidearms, some smgs, some lmgs, some snipers. I have a few maps and stacks of gunsmith materials in the vault. Sometimes i just use my hunter and warlock to store 80% of my exotics weapons.

It's a heck of a lot better than D1 vanilla though. There was what, 30 total slots? My vault was constantly full, and it was a struggle: keep this item I just got and sacrifice a vault slot? Or is it not worth it, dismantle on the spot? Or medium (stays in the postmaster for a while). Btw, this was before the item manager app was invented, so this conundrum involved a 6 minute flight to the tower EVERY TIME!

I'm getting to the point where I feel like I'm one of the people on the Hoarders show every time I have to delete something from my vault to make room now. I use almost none of it but I don't want to get rid of it either.

Easy, I have 5000+ hours, plus 3 characters, too many y1 weapons with 20k+ kills that I just cant delete. Exotic armor from collections have a 48 stat roll, world drop exotics get 58-66 stat rolls, some are in the 80's masterworked (my Peregrine Greaves are 85) A variety of weapon kill bounties that rotate every season. Champion mods on weapons rotate each season. 4-6 full sets of raid armor on 3 characters, plus Escalation Protocol, Dreambane, seasonal armor (8,9,10) Menagerie armor, iron banner armor I have pretty much 3 of every chest piece for different weapon reserves [spoiler]all because affinities exist[/spoiler] [spoiler]if I need extra sword, rocket, grenade, sniper, machine gun, ect reserves I have a chest piece for it[/spoiler] [spoiler]wouldn't it be great if everything was an ornament?[/spoiler] Pinnacle weapons we grinded for. Extra fast summoning exotic sparrows, exotic ships and ghosts I dont want to delete [spoiler]you cant take them all with you[/spoiler] I have 9 items in every single category on all 3 characters (only one open spot for each category) My vault is at 495-500 daily. Every day I have to do some soul searching to figure out what 5-10 items I need to delete every day. I'm deleting 1000 power items every day, was hoarding them for infusion [spoiler]you never know what Y1 weapon I want to make 1000 and use again[/spoiler]

I applauded your perseverance and the love you have for the game, my questions the following: Why...? Do you really infuse year once weapons into this level? Why you need them for? Do you use all the gear on a 1000 PP? Why you need them for?

I just brought my Midnight Coup with 25,000 kills up to 1000 to use again. I hate equipping an item that drops my power. OCD maybe. I did delete over 20 items yesterday my vault is 475, lowest it's been in a year.

You're Mondo hardcore, I'm not hence why I don't have as much space and was wondering why people need that much, space, it makes more sense now. :) -
In the past, usually people who say this do not raid, or have raided very little, or don't play the game very much. I don't play at all anymore so it makes zero difference to me.

I don't have a fireteam to raid, but I play every day or every other day. -
It's very easy to find people to raid with.
