Now also with quarantine, bungie should reconsider banning people for bad network due to the stress the global network is under now.
The current situation, as unfortunate as it is, doesn't mean that the rules no longer apply.

No. In fact, they should reinforce it. Just because everyone is quarantined doesn’t mean you can get away with playing a game on a 2Mb circuit.

Bro this issue is not affecting your local network, it is affecting global internet providers (companies that provide internet to countries), so when someone is having a bad connection it is not because that user has a low speed network, it is because the whole region using the internet at same time

Of course, that is why companies like Netflix and Youtube, are now making videos default to SD. Sony, has said that it is slowing downloads to lessen the stress on the global network. There are now around 1.6 billion people quarantined in their homes around the world and a good chunck of them are using the internet.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 3/26/2020 1:36:20 PMJust to make the distinction, Netflix and Sony are not ISPs. They're online service providing platforms that all concurrently function on the infrastructure the ISPs provide. When Sony/Netflix say they're limiting the usage on their platforms, that's limited to their own individual platforms. The ISPs' network infrastructure's a completely separate thing. It's a thing that handles the traffic of every one of these individual service platforms at the same time. Now if you have a source from an ISP stating the usage peak's causing issues for that said ISP, that's more credible. But Sony / Netflix having issues because of high usage peaks is a problem on their service and their own infrastructure. Not on the ISP's.

As I said, single ISPs providing services to countries have always had infrastructure and speed issues. It’s always been that way. So why do you think there should be an exception when other people who are quarantining and not having the issue have to suffer? Please make sure you take a step back and look at the whole picture, just not the part you like...

But my friend, this is a new kind of stress. Also people with usually good internet, are now suffering because of the congestion. Why should they be also punished?

The main difference too is destiny uses around 300 MBs per hour while 4K Netflix uses 7 GIGs an hour. Vast difference

Which is why now I don't play PvP at peak hours; I know the connection will be bad.
