LOL dude submits a legitimate complaint that the whole community sympathizes with that probably took 15 minutes to type up, and not only does Bungie basically copy and paste a 1-line canned response, they force mark it as the answer. I don't think they could give a more figurative middle finger to OP and the community if they tried.

  • This is not only a PC problem but a XB1 problem as well....

  • My issue has been problem reading game content, skipping and freezing. That started after downloading Shawdowkeep and before that I was being kicked off the server which started after Osiris. However, my daughter's content plays just fine. Why is that?

  • Hire competent networking people, and fire your current ones. They clearly are not good at their job if they've been screwing up royally since the franchise launched. Exposing our IP addresses because they claim we want P2P without even asking us. This also punishes everyone if one person has bad net while having communication flaws. Then in the second game, you take that concept and make hybrid servers by adding in a client aspect to them. That didn't really solve much of anything, and you also tell us about the costs of dedicated servers yet F2P games have dedicated servers and fewer issues. Maybe that's what you need to investigate?

  • Dedicated servers isn’t going to solve your connection issues. If your connection is terrible, then you’re still going to have problems. Also, where are you getting the idea that they exposed IP addresses? I feel I should also note that you think they are “incompetent”, then please feel free to provide your own network design you think the devs should use.

  • My connection is fine, but the way Destiny 2's servers work is that if one person has crap net then you all have crap net! Dedicated servers only punish the person with crap net, not everyone. Because since D1 they have primarily used P2P based servers, but the D2 ones added in a client-based aspect to them compared to D1's pure P2P servers. P2P literally exposes your IP address to everyone, and that's why other players are able to easily kick you from matches with a well-known cheat. Bungie is aware of the flaws of P2P. I already have aka they should rent servers from Amazon or another provider of them.

  • AWS is not a solution. They have outages all the time. Plus, it’s designed for scalability. Considering what they do for the game, there’s no need for it. So it would just be a waste of money. If you were in the business, you would’ve known that....

  • Nor is Bungie's communication flawed, security flawed, and all-around flawed servers that don't care how good your net is. I've had fewer problems with arena shooters renting from Amazon than I have with Bungie's craptastic servers. I don't get shot behind cover due to the communication flaws of P2P, I don't get punished because one guy is lagging, I don't have my IP address handed out to everyone everso freely because they're using dedicated servers rather than P2P, and they also haven't gone down as much nor have I run into the excessive amount of random error codes that are on Bungie's end.

  • Peer to Peer relies heavily on the network connection between two clients. That’s what this game is. I’m not sure why you’re so hung up about there being server issues, but once it gets going, it’s all P2P. I’m still not seeing any evidence to support your claim that there is some security problem though....

  • Since you won't take my word for it here's an article on it. https://www.pcgamer.com/the-strange-science-of-destiny-2s-uniquely-complicated-netcode/ The privacy flaw portion and the portion after that are exactly why you don't use P2P or P2P/Client based hybrid servers for MP games. Well, that and the other flaws that come with them like communication issues.

  • That seems very disingenuous with how big of a problem it is and how long it has been ruining the experience for people. People get punished and locked out of events over these things so now many don't even risk it or want to deal with the aggravation. Meanwhile if you do get in an event it is filled with bots and hackers. Get your house in order, support those that pay and support the game. Stop rewarding f2p people at the expense of paying, loyal customers.

  • All of this ^^^ BF and I got slapped with 2 week restrictions on Monday because of the amount of disconnects we've gotten since the release of Season of the Worthy. I would joke that apparently the Worthy are those who can afford and have the luxury of living in an area with fiber, but fiber customers are being affected too. What a way for us to spend the quarentine.

I had gotten 5 in a row last week, and the game actually blamed my net. My roommate is a retired networking and cybersecurity instructor, did diagnostics, and pretty much proved that it was Bungie to me as everything else was working fine. One of their main people is literally a former game journalist that has no experience developing games, and I also showed my roommate that video where the head of their networking team breaks down how Destiny 2's networking works. He couldn't stop laughing at the guy.

  • I'm also having connection issues. It would be nice if your Twitter support account at least acknowledged the issue. I just bought the season pass today and it is unplayable because of the constant disconnects that seem to happen at the most inconvenient times.

do you care about your players we have the same issues and what you do ? you let a bot say hi. thanks for your report and nothing happen, your game is great but the peer to peer servers are so bad and you know it. your P.R need some work that if you have one

  • Since every "update" adds new issues, I doubt you guys are taking this very seriously. You disable exotics for entire seasons instead of fixing the bugs with them. This last update completely broke my ability to play the game at all. Nothing but black screens and newt + watercress errors. And then you try to blame my network, which hasn't changed at all. The only thing that changed on my end was your "update." Of all the times for you guys to screw your customers, this ain't it.

  • All you’ve said is your investigating this for weeks now. You’ve ruined this season for a lot of people, we need a higher power to actually get you to do something about this because the season will be gone soon. You’ve nearly reached the end of the season pass model and it’s been crap, the game has reached the end of its life cycle and now you’re just nickel and dimming what’s left of your loyal player base

  • Well don't worry you miss put on almost nothing going f2p and they seem to care much more about turning a f2p player into a paying one over keeping a paying player. So fall back to f2p and they might take your and all of our complaints seriously.
