Jaren’s Ghost spoke to Shin at this moment, but there is absolutely no confirmation of him becoming Shin’s Ghost and he was never seen again. And there is no lore where Shin was injured or required a Ghost or was seen with a Ghost after that time. There is still no proof that a Guardian can go through multiple Ghosts. Several characteristics of the bonds between Guardians and Ghosts remain mysteries to us.

 • Actually the joker’s wild lore shows him using golden gun in present time, and light abilities can’t be used without a ghost, so he has to have a ghost, just not necessarily Jaren’s.
But who else’s? Unless his own is alive actually somehow?
• You are correct, but only if you give the caveat that the events between Shin and Yor happened within 50 or so years of Jaren's death. It seems like Shin was aging while living in Palamon and while he and the survivors were tracking Yor, Yor even seems to mention that Shin "has become a man" and in the lore Shin died and was resurrected as a child. It's reasonable to assume that the shoot-out between Shin and Yor happened quite a long time after Ward's death, but there seems to be no hint of longevity. Also, without the light, Shin would have to be exceedingly lucky and never receive a serious or fatal injury. Even Yor had the darkness to help him. We don't have concrete information one way or the other yet, we'll have to wait for Shin to step out of the shadows. Also, when Shin formed the Shadows of Yor to help him single out fanatics that would follow in Yor's footsteps, Jaren's Ghost was with him, and asked specifically what he would do since the Vanguard was only monitoring the situation while letting the Shadows run rampant in the Crucible, to which Shin replied "I'll do what I have to." I had assumed there was a passing of the torch with the Ghost, so maybe I was wrong. But we do still have a possibility. Like you said, the specifics around the ties that bind Ghost and Guardian are still a mystery, but it does seem like a reasonable assumption that if a Guardian was drained of their light, and killed permanently, that their Ghost could connect to another. Unless we get direct confirmation that this is absolutely 100% possible, I'm keeping an open mind. It's also possible Clovis Bray kept a back up of the original, human Cayde on backup, since he sold himself to the company for the experimental Exo program to clear his debts. Who doesn't keep a backup of data for experiments? It wouldn't be the same Cayde, our Cayde, but he would also be clean of the demons that haunted our Cayde from the terrible things CB had made him do. I'm fully aware it's more likely than not that Cayde is gone for good. I hold out hope because he deserved better than the hand he was dealt. Even so, he played the hand as masterfully as he could. All we can do, is let his memory inspire us to be better than our past selves.
