Randomly banned. No restrictions prior. VAC ban on steam profile?

Hi, I have been randomly banned today while in a strike with my friends. I have no restrictions prior, and the only thing I can think of that may have caught me this ban is that my connection to some matches was dropped during some activities. I also had Discord running, and am aware that D2 has issues with it, but weren't these fixed? I'm also not sure if this is due to Destiny 2 or not but I have a VAC ban listed on my account, listed the same time I received the D2 ban. Please help me out. I do believe I have been wrongfully banned. Supposedly there are only manual bans, but if VAC is really involved then wasn't this automatic? EDIT: No reason was listed. I would at least like a reason on why I was banned. I didn't receive an email or anything on it either.

Your account was banned on Dec 26th when an application specifically designed to forcibly load arbitrary, foreign code into other processes was detected directly targeting the Destiny 2 game client. When players receive an account ban in Destiny 2 on Steam - either directly, or when opted-in for CrossSave with a Steam account - the ban is reported to Valve. This is why you see a VAC notification for your account. The data leading to your ban has been reviewed and validated. Your punishment will not be reversed. • It is my understanding that a VAC ban is a Steam thing, so Bungie wouldn't answer to that. It is also Bungie policy to not answer posts on bans. At best you may get a vague reply, that still would not name a specific program, from BNGSecurity. There were also not "thousands" of wrongful bans. There were four bans mistakenly carried over from PC BETA and one reversal from recently that was for a questionable individual that found a loophole that has since been fixed. Bans are not automated and flags to an account are manually checked prior to ban placement. They are then reviewed once more to reaffirm proper ban placement. Programs that will cause a flag and ban can include but are not limited to cheats/aimbots/trainers/autoclickers/and any software that can inject/modify code. These can and do include debuggers and other software that may be intended for work/school. A program does not need to be intended for Destiny to cause a flag/ban.

The process for BANS and RESTRICTIONS involve reports coming in from players or their flag system towards an individual. The person at Bungie HQ reviews it. And they decide if it was warranted or not. Intentionally or not your account broke the rules. Ignorance of the rules doesn't exempt you from them. Your account is done. There is literally nothing you can do about it. So your only two options are to buy the content again on a new account or move on to other games. If you pray hard enough maybe just maybe the person that runs the BNGSecurity account will care enough to give you an extremely vague reason as to why a punishment was issued. The chances of that happening are slim to none. Here's some examples of other people who did nothing wrong that the BNGSecurity account replied to. https://www.bungie.net/en/Profile/BungieActivity/254/21102603/BNGSecurity
