I just wanted to add my voice to the pile by letting Bungie know how displeased I am at losing Glory points, having my K/D ruined, and getting suspended from farming an SMG I need for my character to be relevant this season all because they can't handle connectivity issues that last about a half second. I keep getting booted from matches and then am immediately able to log back in but can't reconnect to the game. Last night some of my disconnects weren't even on my end...two were because steam servers started having issues and one was Bungie's fault--though in that case everyone was able to rejoin eventually. I understand an internet outage on my end--my devious, throttling ISP's end, really--that lasts a minute or longer causing me to be booted from a game, but a disconnect so quick that by the time I'm booted I am reconnected is incompetent programming, Bungie. You know what else is incompetent programming...not having a mechanism for players to reconnect to competitive matches and doubly so because you evidently have no method of distinguishing a player getting disconnected from one intentionally leaving a game.
Furthermore, I am evidently not the only player struggling with these issues as either my fireteam or the opposing fireteam was shorthanded on several occasions. I will admit to intentionally leaving one time, when I was the only person on my fireteam from the start of the match and after picking up 7 deaths, I decided my K/D had suffered enough and was suffering pointlessly and 'Alt + F4'ed.
There is no reason not to allow players to reconnect. You offer no compensation for customers who suffer from others leaving or getting disconnected from the games, and the punishment intended for leavers affects innocent players who pay an ISP well for a connection that sometimes falters. We're already annoyed at the ISP for the disconnection, we know that although you can ease the process by making your code friendlier to temporary disconnections and by permitting reconnecting to dropped matches, you can't ultimately prevent all disconnections, but don't punish me for Spectrum's failings.
Fix this nonsense.
