If I’m gonna be joining a Strike in progress, could I at least spawn near my teammates?

It’s getting very annoying being spawned into a Strike in progress all the way near the beginning, while my teammates are half way into the Strike or are just about to start up the boss encounter.

  • It’s the worst when it’s one of the strikes that involve the infinite forest. If I load into one of those when the team is more than halfway through the strike, I just leave.

  • There could at least be some checkpoints when certain events has been successfully completed. Best part is when you’re joining an Ordeal Nightfall and have no clue if the Champions have been cleared or not, leaving you clueless to wether it’s worth continuing or just leave and hope for a fresh run.

  • Lol yeah it’s extremely annoying not sure when it started doing this. I think shadowkeep? Strikes in general are a joke so stupid they don’t have the specific loot in the strikes playlist. Even if it’s 10% or something. I think the catalyst need an increase as well.

        Same. I usually start at the very beginning while they are almost at the boss room. Sometimes anyway.

      • I spawned into a strike in progress literally in the wrong zone and could not join my teammate to do the strike because this caused the flags to not be triggered.

      • Why? It's good to be spawning at the beginning and I can just derp around under the pretext of trying to make my way to my team mates without having to do any actual work. And before I know it, I will be ported into the boss fight and still gain credit for 10% effort.

      • Best example I've had is flying into the starting checkpoint of Exodus Black strike. Teammates had just cleared the 'protect Ghost from the Electric Shanks area' as I landed. I jump on my sparrow and floor it. Where do I catch up...? Teammates are just clearing the Electric Shanks in the boss room before the fight. Entire strike was essentially an SRL track.

        • I spawned into the festering core at the beginning of the strike when my teammates appeared to be at the 2nd set of vex plates locking the 2nd door (the end of the long stretch with the moving arc barriers). So they were a little over half way done. By time I caught up with them, they were at the boss. That's how long and how much running I had to do to catch up with them.

          Well, if they're about to start the boss encounter, you should be teleported straight there ("joining allies" etc). If you spawn way behind, you could just goof around till your teammates reach the boss and you're teleported. That's what I often do anyway. Hard to feel invested in the strike when the spawn places you somewhere with nothing to do (and no super or possibility to gain heavy ammo).

          • Little known thing about our our ghost is that they can’t give our guardians any cardio training but like they do everything else. So to compensate, (and to save the embarrassment of having to tell us) our ghost makes us run incredibly long distances to our destination, even at some points saying he can’t summon a sparrow even though it’s clear sparrows work in there and he’s able to teleport you out.

            • Just a nitpick more than anything, but it'd be nice to know which strike we're heading to while loading too. I know we can confirm the patrol zone based off of the Director, but the only Strikes it absolutely confirms would be the Corrupted/Savathun's Song since the Dreaming City/Titan only have one strike available at their respective locations. If I'm going to the Tangled Shore or Nessus for example, It'd like to know which of those strikes I'm launching since there's three to pick from either location.
