With the recent push, I am seeing in the crucible and the fact I see loadouts which are absolutely designed for a losing team in mind? Here are the suggestions for the future (D3 or as time permits): #1. Competitive questlines move to performance-based on two metrics: win ratio and kills/deaths (k/d). There is no more of this achieving a certain rank to say you are better. You must put up the overall damage numbers, kills over deaths, and minimum streak wins of 5 multiple times to show ranking stature by the end of Legend. To showcase this: 2 guardians start on Guardian 1. The first match, second match, third match? You are out of Guardian simply by getting a single multi-kill as it stands now. That is 2 assists or 1 kill/1 assist or 2 kills within 5 seconds of one another. You are now Brave I. First guardian does well? Your team won five straight matches? You move up a notch on the ladder. From Brave I to Brave III for five wins and a k/d of... let's say 1.2 to start.. with two multi kill medals this time. The second player gets a .83 with five wins and 2 multi-kill medals. You didn't muster up to the 1.2 k/d requirements. You do not get the same progress as the other one. The first one goes to the next rank. You stay behind at Brave III, however. When you average out your kills and deaths? You will reach Heroic. Now let's switch it. Heroic I. Guardian 1 struggles to get the new 1.5 k/d, 3 multi-kill medals in a single match, and could only get 3 or 4 straight wins on their streak card. You are locked Heroic I until you get 1 of the three complete. Player 1 gets a fireteam and gets 3 multi-kill medals in a single match. Heroic II. Next match though... player 1 does terrible... terrible... gets a .56 k/d. Warning for the system. Heroic II still though. Second match? Does a little better ending with .71 k/d. Demoted a few more points, but you keep your rank at minimum Heroic II. Third match less than 1.0? You're done in Heroic. Brave III. Get the same requirements to get back to Heroic. Player 2 continues struggling. They manage to get a few matches to increase from 1.2 to 1.5 k/d though. Not a single multi-kill however. The system prompts the same warning as a check. Player 2 gets their respective win streak to 5 and snags two matches with 3 multi-kill medals. Congrats player 2, you are Fabled I. The new system would incorporate your record of 5 matches or 3 matches minimum. Losing 1 or 2 matches or simply having a bad match or two? Won't decrease your overall rank. 3 strikes though and your out and can work your way back up. #2. Multiple playlists. Start off with a basic tester group of the normal playlists with competitive advantages enabled. Rumble (FFA); Team (4); Doubles; No 6 man quickplay, no fireteam of three playlists. Customize game types to each area based for the population. One Countdown game for each of those areas for example. "But how would that work for Rumble?" Simple: Rumble player count- 5. Map? Medium size only to start. Your score goes up only when you successfully detonate any of the four active nodes. Timers are set and can still detonate after death (same as now). Deactivating simply stops a player from progressing. It does not add to your score. Same as normal rumble- one player will rise to the top and then get targeted by everyone until the playing field evens out. Then it is crunch time. Score to win: 6 detonations. #3. Rewards- Quests are one thing, but if you achieve a certain gold standard? Not just medals. Say... you get 100-150 kills during your time throughout Heroic? Or you get an impressive amount of teamwork medals in accumulation over solo finisher medals or vice versa? Being able to show you did something like that is part of the mountain climb and should be rewarded. Past that point, however? Some players will never be as good as to get all of the emblems, so if you attain those rewards as a collection? Then you also get a unique weapon. A custom exotic to basically say a good job for getting all of them. This thread is open for ideas, but keep it to the talking points and not a discussion about others opinions.
