Build up not out.

What is a thing I liked about D1 alot? Its consistency. Hive DLC, Fallen DLC, vs Cayde/Skorn but also Queen/Taken related DLC? New DLC/Season = New Strikes, new Raid, New story/missions VS Maybe a new/old Exotic quest? Maybe a new game mode entirely (Escalation, Forges etc), maybe a raid? My point is, I'm sick of the uncertainty of what's to come- but worse than that I HATE the way you guys use 'bringing back' old Exotics/gear as a replacement for new content almost entirely. But just as much as that, I'm SICK of getting a new throw-away mode/activity every season/dlc. Sure I like the Menagerie for being a good middle-ground for raids and everything else along with the vastly improved drop system. However I didn't get excited about Escalation, BlindWell or Forges because I already KNEW they weren't going to be a returning/staying concept that would be built an improved upon with each season. SURE you can say Escalation = Forges = Menagerie, but imagine how far less impactful and exciting something like Gambit would have been if we all knew they were gonna just replace it with some other entirely different mode next season? What I want, is consistency and for Bungie to be evolving/improving and adding to the already existing modes/content we have had from the beginning- aka build UP not OUT. We haven't had a new strike since Forsaken, I wish we'd have gotten ONE new strike with black armory and Season of Opulence. Sure S5 you gave us a nice story/quest and it works as a replacement for a campaign with custscenes, but topping off the story with a strike and then the raid woulda been nice- like yall USED to do. Or how about how in S6 we got the visions from the Nine, yet this season nothing of the sort? I'd have really liked to have gotten weekly custscenes revealing more about what Calus is/has been up to. The lore is nice but as we've long since established not a replacement for a more direct story. Sure, adding new fresh ways to play once in awhile is nice. But if they are going to be one-shot/experimental modes how about saving them for faction-rallies or holiday-events? TLDR; Stop making new modes that come and go with each season. Stop recycling D1/old gear as a replacement for new gear/content. Focus instead on adding to the established experiences, new strike(s), PvP/Gambit map(s). Reserve experimental modes/activities for limited-time events... Like SRL..... Gimme back SRL pleeeeeeease! I'll make a follow-up post with my idea for Nightfalls soon. Edit: Obviously this is all just my opinion, albeit a strong one. If you guys like the constant new activities then all the more power to you. I loved/miss Prison of Elders and that was an unpopular addition in D1. Edit 2: Also to clarify/admit, I obviously am a fan of D1 gear being cycled back into the the game. I just am tired of feeling like D2 is trying to 'catch-up' with D1 perpetually instead of actually being a sequel. I just wish all the old stuff was in the game already and we were only getting new gear/content moving forward.

 • I wonder what it would be like if they make Gambit slightly different than its current form rn. where in Gambit prime a few elite/powerful wizards will spawn, killing them will cause them to drop an orb which has to be deposited into an object. Ofc once the wizard spawns there will be a timer countdown and once the countdown ended the wizards will disappear from the map until the next phase. the primeval buff will be given based on how many orbs were deposited during the collection phase and the buff will only be given to those who are standing close to the object (the object where the orbs are deposited). The reason for this idea is to generate a more consistent and competitive form pvp in Gambit. It's also made in a way that even if your team puts out the primeval late as long as you grabbed enough orbs during the collection phase your entire team can still catch up to the opponent team.
