Exotic Drop Rate

I have played over 150 hours in destiny and I have gotten 3 exotics. You should make the drop rate a little higher. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the drop rate is lower than in destiny 1, but after reaching max light and finishing the raid, the final challenge is getting all the exotics. The main problem is that it's taken so long to get a single exotic that I go into every activity annoyed because I know I'm not going to get an exotic. There are 110 exotics, so at my current rate I'll have every exotic in 5,500 hours. Let's say that I play 30 hours a week, It'll take me 3.5 years to earn all the exotics assuming that I get no duplicates, which is as we all know, not going to happen. Raise the exotic drop rate to a level that makes is actually seem like I'm not going to have to play til the end of time to the exotic that I want. And to ensure that people font get every exotic in the game in a week, put a cap on the number that an account can earn per week.

Because your characters are still fresh. Exotic drop rate is higher once youre 560+, and on 3 characters. Exotics do not drop in the wild as much as people wished they were. Sure you may get 1 exotic engram from a random Gambit enemy, but that is once a month. If you want to increase your exotic drop rate, then you must do all your milestones. Raids, 100K nightfalls, 5 crucible matches, heroic adventures. Any activity that drops a powerful engram has the potential to be an exotic. I have 3 lvl 600 characters. My exotic drop rate has been about 5-6 per week. Its even better when its Shattered Throne week.

  • I’m curious about your math to figure that out. By your math you need 37 exotics. I count that all weapons and armor forsaken added maybe 25, probably 10 or so are quest lines so you can’t count those with your math. You can’t count any year one exotics towards your math cause they can be bought from Zur with fated engrams and you’re assuming they don’t add the current exotics to zurs inventory once new content drops. I get your point and you a valid reason for your opinion, like I said I’m just curious about your math.

      • This post makes zero sense, the drop rate should not be increased unless we want to get as many exotics as legendaries (destiny 2 at launch), I played D1 since beta the drop rate is higher, you're not max light you are 50 light levels away on both characters (nice attempt), if you go into every activity expecting an exotic you need to change your expectations it's extremely unlikely and therefore unrealistic, using your math and your math alone to prove the drop rate is bad is a horrible idea (you need more people to prove it)
