Fanmade Exotic Rocket Launcher Concept

Sidenote: I chose not to write this in conditional tense because (I’m lazy) so it reads as if the weapon is in existence in the game. Obviously, I don’t expect the weapon to be added to the game so I’m not overly bothered about the finer details or the ins and outs of balance - I just though I would share the basic concept. Enjoy. “Draconae Fortuna” (Roughly translates as The Dragons’ Luck) Stats Blast Radius: Medium Velocity: High Stability: Very high Handling: Low Reload Speed: Very slow Fire Rate: Low Mag Size: 3 (this will make sense later) Appearance This may be difficult to understand, so I might add a sketch later if necessary. The front section is composed of three tubes arranged in a triangle, so that one is aligned with the launching tube that extends to the rear of most rocked launchers. Each tube has an oriental-style dragon’s head around its opening (similarly to the lion’s head on Fighting Lion), with the body of the dragon extending backwards and twisting over the other tubes, so that the front of the launcher looks the same when rotated through by 120 degrees. One dragon is a pale blue, one is orange and the other is purple, each with silver or gold embellishments around their scales. The rear tube continues the body of the dragon on the front tube aligned with it. The weapon could feature the Crux/Lomar logo somewhere subtle but still visible. Exotic Perks Exotic Perk #1: “Twisting Fate” Each full mag consists of one arc rocket, one solar rocket and one void rocket (corresponding to the three dragons on the launcher’s frame). Hold [Reload] to cycle between remaining rockets.
When fully loaded, the magazine has the three rockets as explained above. The order is not important but must be consistent, so by default, the launcher always fires arc, then solar then void. However, the cycling function, inspired by Borealis and Hard Light allows the wielder to select which rocket to fire next. It should be noted that only rocket of each element can be fired per mag, so if the solar round has been launched, then only the arc and void rockets can be cycled through. The dragon head corresponding to the readied rocket is most visible in the wielder’s field of view, is charged with the respective energy, and the eyes glow brightly in the respective colour. Cycling through elements rotates the whole front section of the launcher, allowing the correct dragon the be in the right position.
Exotic Perk #2: “Elemental Napalm” Upon impact, rockets fired from this weapon create a field of energy that behaves according to their damage type.
This is strongly inspired by the rocket launcher Dragon’s Breath from year one of D1, which created a solar flare grenade on impact. The Draconae Fortuna does the same, but as an improvement, the arc rocket creates a pulse grenade and the void rocket creates a vortex grenade. The specifics of these energy fields may need adjustment from the grenade versions so that the weapon is balanced.
The original Dragon’s Breath was underpowered, and although it was adjusted in year two to be more unique, it still remained mediocre (I never actually used it so these are second-hand opinions, I just remember not seeing it very often). To save the Draconae Fortuna from the same fate, the following supplementary perks may be necessary: Basic Perk #1: Tracking Rockets fired from this weapon track their target. Basic Perk #2: Auto-Loading Holster The holstered weapon is automatically loaded after a short duration. TL;DR
A rocket launchers that fires elemental rockets which create solar, pulse or vortex grenades on impact. The element of the rocket, and therefore the grenade summoned, can be selected by the user.
Thanks for reading this! Comment and let me know what you think! Suggestions for flavour text and lore would also be much appreciated because I really have no ideas.
