BUNGIE PLEASE BUFF MOBILITY!!

Bungie if you really do look into the community feed back please for the love of God buff mobility stat so that it actually does something more than "Power walking". Look I get that a lot of people jump on these forums and complain about stuff and simply say "do something" which isn't constructive at all, so allow me to bring up suggestions. Mobility as a whole is just about as undermined as the fighting lion pre patch, nobody cares about it. If it's going to be part of the game this is something that must be addressed and quite frankly it has sooo much opportunity to fix other issues collectively. Mobility should- INCREASE SPRINT SPEED. Of course this can be applied with a cap for the sake of balance, so that if anyone equips speed increasing weapons and exotics it's not overly abused but would give a more versatile build for ALL subclasses instead of the basic resilience and recovery build. This ALSO fixes major issues with the hunter, SPECIALLY the arcstrider. Bungie let's be honest, I know you've seen the complaints and there are certain things that just simply make no sense. Arcstrider is the close combat subclass and Hunter are supposed to be "the fastest" yet their super is slow and even the regular melee procs slower than other subclasses? It's almost comical how easily the arcstrider is out ran. This could all be fixed by giving real meaning to mobility which will force players to think more strategically when making a build. I would say give Arcstrider a speed buff like the striker titan or ~25% speed buff. If Mobility is going to be in the game then allow it to be used according to the very definition of the word, increase the guardians movement abilities consisting of: INCREASED JUMP SPEED Let guardians initial jump or lift into the air be quicker with a normal drop speed. This way the air hang time is not affected but the burst of speed upward is. This won't break the game because it's the same jump, it's not covering more ground allowing for guardians to move farther(I understand certain exotics are in place for this) INCREASED CLASS ABILITY SPEED. Allowing a guardians ability to proc slightly quicker. For example a Titan quickly activating a barricade might seem like overkill however all abilities could be scaled for balance, if a Titan goes for max mobility and does this then the draw back would be either recovery stat ( how long it'll take the titan to regain health and get out of danger before the opposing guardian gets an angle and shoots him or throws grenades) or Resilience meaning they could recover but depending on how much resilience stat they decide to sacrifice, they may very well die before completing the barricade animation. INCREASED MELEE SPEED: This could be carefully monitored however I believe this also goes hand in hand with speed. a greater increase with how fast a melee could be used in conjunction with the handling in a weapon. Sometimes we may fire weapons and go for a melee only to feel extremely sluggish and press the melee button several times before it actually activates, cutting the time for melee should be an incentive for mobility (cutting off some frames) in the same way that ADS is affected before one could take a shot with a weapon. I would really love if this could be upvoted so that hopefully bungie sees it, and if anyone feels this make break that game please chime in I really would like to see how we could constructively help this game. Instead of criticizing the developers by simply saying "Do something" without any suggestions, this fame has so much potential and bungie is under so much pressure to bring out content, so quite frankly they won't have all the answers; not right away atleast. This is where this community comes in, because we could and we should help.

  • Love the post and ideas. Here's a quick mock-up of another potential approach. Mobility: 1-3= increased walk/strafe speed and jump height. Minor boost to handling (reload and ready) 4-6= increased sprint speed and jump speed. Minor boost to ability activation. 7-9= continued walk/sprint speed. Greater mantling capability. Increased melee speed. 10= bonus weapon range and reduced fall damage. [Hunter only] increased dodge distance Resilience 1-3= increased health pool (red bar). Minor increase to stability. 4-6= increased Shield strength. Reduced flinch. 7-9= greater health/shields. Reduced slowing effects. 10= bonus stability/recoil reduction. [Titan only] greater barrier strength. Recovery 1-3= increased health/shield regen. 4-6= reduced ability cooldown. 7-9= greater regeneration. 10= bonus handling. [Warlock only] greater rift effectiveness.

      I wish I could have zero mobility on my Hunter so I can focus Recovery and Resilience

      • screw speed ! I already have +10 on my hunter, what I want is class tree ! I"m shooting warlocks with 1% health left they go to cover and bam 0.5sec full health that's complete BS for recovery !

        Sorry, bud, but if you came to Destiny 2 looking for mobility......and fun, you came to the wrong game. This is a game about balance and weak gear. They should probably change the name of the game to Balance 2. Instead of "Become Legend" it's really "Become Slow, Weak and Mundane".

            To be honest, neither Mobility or Resilience do much (the difference between 4 Resilience vs 10 resilience means you can take one more Thrall hit... But the same amount of MIDA shots). Recovery is the only stat with any real noticeable effect. Hell, my Titan has 7 Recovery and it feels much slower than my 10 Recovery Warlock.

            • Nah, more viable, give arcstrider blink, keep mobility exactly the way it works however just make it a bit more effective (even more strafe) but yeah, it's good the way it is

                • I'd be happy with mobility boosting sprint speed and class jump height. Funny thing is that warlocks get more effect out of high mobility with glide than hunters do with double or triple jump.

                  • Just my point of view. I find mobility to be quite useful. It helps with strafing. Strafing helps not only with causing your opponent to miss, but also with taget acquisition. Mobility also comes in handy if you have to backpedal and shoot someone charging at you with a super, sword, or shotgun. Being able to jump higher can also be useful in such situations.

                  • No, can't do that. Can't buff either mobility or ttk. That would completely break all the camping, teamshooting BS. We can not afford all casuals leave this game...oh wait

                          • Not just the mobility stat, but the speed of the entire game. If everything in this senior citizen's game (especially the ability cooldowns) could take place twice as fast, then the game would start to feel slightly fun.

                          • arcstrider and striker are fundementally different. their speeds should not be compared. Strikers are like a thunder clap. they do AOE damage. as such the need to move quickly to get out of their previous AEO area. ARCSTRIDERS do what their name entails; they ride the lightning. when youre an arcstrider you're to go enemy to enemy with attacks and dodges, if you hit a "dead end" with enemies, youre going to fizzle out. learn to play the game and not just demand it be what you want.

                          • Be interesting to know if the run speed is capped because of the console 30 fps (frames per second) limit, maybe there it's enough horsepower to run faster. Observation based on how fast the PC players move at 60 fps.

                          • Also, on my hunter, I’m practically forced into having high mobility by default. I can try as much as I want to put on resilience and recovery perks on my armor, but I can never drastically change my stats to my liking. There is no noticeable change in stats in the game.

                          • I have zero mobility on my Warlock, 4 resilience and 10 recovery. I love this setup with recovery maxed out. Would normally equip my mida just for extra speed boost but mobility really ain’t that important in D2.
