Exo Stranger identity FINALLY discovered?

*its come to my attention after many interesting replies that the Stranger could most likely be Maya Sundaresh of the vex grimoire cards. I'm going to leave this post here regardless and other theories are always welcome* -update So after a lot of grimoire surfing and in game dialogue and quest information I have come up with the theory that the exo stranger was a member of the first fireteam to go into the vault of glass (like Kabr and Praedyth) this could explain her time travel abilities as well from being exposed to the vex. If you remember she doesn't have a ghost, and your own ghost deduces that she isn't a guardian. I feel we have been misled. I feel that she was a guardian at one point but died in the vault (the "Not forged in light" quest has you collecting dead ghosts of the fireteam members in the paradox mission) You eventually find the cult ghost and the FWC exo tells you that she recalls the ghost but can't find any record of it or something like that, then when you finally find a group who's bored enough to run the old VOG raid so you can get Atheons eye, I find it curious that the next item you receive from the Twilight Gap mission is Ana Bray's necklace (or bracelet I can't exactly remember) and then when you kill the groundskeeper his parts along with the necklace and ghost shell all come together and make... the exo strangers rifle. Way too many coincidences. Also to note, "No time to explain" and "not forged in light" are both exo stranger quotes. Given this information and the fact that the exo stranger has friends on her radio, I feel that the biggest possibility for her identity and that of her unseen partners are the fireteam that went into the vault of glass and have now been changed by the vex technology and have warping abilities and all that other confusing time travel stuff. The reason why I'm convinced she's part of the VOG team is because the Exo stranger was part of the year one and on-disk story so it wouldn't make sense that she's involved with crota or skas or oryx, yet the Vault was part of all the pre-dlc content (just like the exo stranger) There's so much grimoire information to read and there's so many entries about the Vault and the vex that mentions the technology of the Vex affecting guardians. Quotes like "never touch a living vex" or how the vault massively affected mental states and how Kabr could feel himself "slipping" even going so far as to say "If I speak again, I am not Kabr" so the Vex obviously have something to their machinery that can get inside your mind (maybe the SIVA nanobots but that's a completely different thread) and affect your light and sanity I feel like bungie is hinting from all this backstory that the VOG and Vex transformed the Kabr fireteam and that's why the Exo tells you of the vex and the black garden, as if to try and change history and her own fate. Am I on to something? Do you have a different theory? Let's get to the bottom of this together.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but Praedyth says so himself in the paradox mission it was only Kabr, Paladin, and himself that went into the vault. Kabr went crazy and is M.I.A., Paladin made it out, made Super Good Advice, then was killed by Dredgen Yor, and Praedyth got stuck in the vault and died there. And the Eco stranger isn't a guardian, so idk how she'd be one of those three
