Why has Awoken player characters no longer have the energy effects within the skin?

Have noticed that NPCs still have that energy flux effect in their skin (like Zavala and Tess Everis) but your character, if Awoken, no longer has that. In Destiny 1 your character had the effect in their skin but in the "improved" Destiny 2 your awoken character now just has straight solid blue skin. My characters where all imported from D1 but I have checked by watching YouTube D2 character creation videos and even in that close in view the Awoken skin no longer has the energy effect in it. I'm really disappointed in this as it is one of the really cool things in having an Awoken character. Sadly it appears maybe Bungie has cut corners here and now Awoken just have solid blue Smurf skin. Can we please have that effect put back into D2 from D1? Its clearly not that this was removed from the game (for system limitations etc.) as your Awoken character can be standing along side an Awoken NPC that still has that energy effect in their skin.

  • The way player characters look in general is worse imo. I transferred my Titan and I miss how he looked in d1. The colors and shapes on the face changed quite a bit, and not in a good way. It's disappointing because, as you said, this is supposed to be an improvement.
