• It was a great movie, I thought the scene where Vulture answers the door on Peter was very well executed, cause I never really saw it coming. It got a huge "OH" from the audience in my theater, and that's not something I've experienced in a while. I'll relate that to Liz being black, I don't think the effectiveness of that scene would have been possible if the love interest character was a pale redhead. Peter Parker in previous Spiderman films has fought villains that were the parent of a close friend. People can bitch about it being progressive, but it's important to note that 1) Liz was never MJ to begin with, and 2) it's functional for how you experience the movie the first time through. Also, Flash not being a generic jock was refreshing.

    • 2 complaints. 1.
MJ was changed to Michelle (wtf?), she wasn't a redhead, and she was super edgy for no reason.
And 2.
Flash Thompson was changed to an Indian guy. Why?
Other than those, I thought it was pretty solid. May's acting could have been better. Also, did anyone else peep the Miles Morales Easter Egg? Donald Glover says
I don't want these weapons here either. I have a nephew in that neighborhood.
I give it a 91 out of 100.

          • Did anyone catch the Flash joke? Flash Thompson answers a math question incorrectly, and the teacher says "See, Flash, being the fastest doesn't matter if you don't get it right." I lol'd.

            • Second favorite spider man after spider man 2. It's a solid 9 for me. I liked Vulture. They took a side spider man villain and mode him pretty dope. I could understand entirely why he was does what he does and found him relatable (at least he likes black chicks). I saw the reveal coming as soon as Peter asked Liz to prom and told my buddies this. Tom Holland as Peter Parker was great. He played the akward young spider man in highschool very well and had great humor. They should've actually used his spider senses though. The rest of the cast was great. Zendaya is still hot.

            • They went a bit overboard trying to distance themselves from the other films by making their side characters pretty bizarre (Donald Glover, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei), but overall it was okay. Pretty good reveal re: Vulture's family. I really didn't like all the Iron Man stuff built into the suit.

            • Also that one scene when the librarian asks Ned what he's doing during the dance 😂

            • Personally, I loved it. I don't think it was the best film in the MCU, but it's up there. The pacing was a little off/fast at times and I think some of the Tony Stark sections didn't feel particularly like Tony Stark for some reason, but it was otherwise really good. 8/10

I thought it was great, my favorite part was probably when Aunt May saw him and was like, "WHAT THE FU-" and the it cuts to the credits. Probably 10-10

I give it an 8/10. It was a great movie, but it'd probably be at the bottom of my top 5 MCU movies. I will say that I think it was the best "First" Spider-man movie. As in I'm glad they skipped past all of the Peter-gets-bitten-and-Uncle-Ben-dies routine. liked all of the fresh takes on the characters, and the nice shoutout to Miles Morales. The only thing that bothered me is that it shares a problem that a lot of MCU movies seem to have; if one simple action was taken or not taken, the movie's conflict would have been solved in like 5 minutes. For example: if Tony and Happy have just listened to Peter in the beginning, a lot could have been prevented. Or even in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony made a dumb decision to develop an A.I. without fully understanding the tech he made it with in less than 48 hours, and the thing damn dear destroyed the world. In Ant-Man, Hank Pym really could have called the Avengers or alerted SHIELD.

                • It was just, okay for a movie. Sadly most of Marvel's movies are in that category being pumped out like a CoD game. For some weird reason, Tom felt so fake. His entire performance felt exaggerated in every little detail. And his voice, my god. High school was ten years ago and not a single guy had a voice that high. He also seems like the least heroic out of any of our past actors. His motives aren't set out to help but to make himself look better for daddy stark. "Bert Tako, he larrned his leasson et de end!" No, no the 8 year old Spider-Man learned nothing other than he has to work alone sometimes. Also Vulture, completely wasted potential. It was like they had a checklist for a villain motive and slapped it together. What is kinda funny is that Keaton was actually correct when he said the little guy always gets ignored in the end. There was a moment where Spider-Man could've had a time of understanding but nah, we gotta get filming to milk this cash cow. Donald Glover...what're you doing man? Unless the "nephew" he mentioned is a little kid named Miles, his reason for being in the movie was pointless. Wasted potential all around. Only the Venom movie can truly revive Spider-Man

My biggest praise (other than Tom Holland) is that they took a different design approach with vulture. In my opinion, the original design would feel out of place in the MCU.

                  • Saw it last night. Absolutely loved it! 10/10. Loved Michael Keaton's portrayal of the Vulture. He was a very down to earth villain. He was doing this to provide for his family. He wasn't power hungry. I love that Stark wasn't in it much. The trailers made it feel like Iron Man 4 feat. Spider-Man. What I really loved was the end credits scene. Not only did it tease the Sinister Six. It teased Scorpion. The guy Toomes was talking to was Mac Gargan.

                    • It was an alright film, but if Tony Stark wasn't the worlds worst dad and just had a 5 minute conversation with Peter, the entire plot wouldn't have happened.

                        • It was AMAZING. SPECTACULAR. RADIOACTIVE. Insert another Spidey adjective. I loved it. Was a love letter to the character. Tom Holland is the best Spidey yet, period. Villain was great. Action was great. Comedy was great. Story was great. 9.5/10 would see again.

                          • It was meh. Very progressive and politically correct. Felt the villain's motives were silly. Spider-Man saved the dude's daughter and he still wanted to kill him. Also the villain did it cause he wanted to support his family, but did so by living luxuriously. How dumb. That didn't quite make much sense. Then he casually killed a man and none of his goons even cared, that would kill morale. I give it a weak 5.

I work at a movie theater and almost every showing for Spider-Man is sold out.
