Giving the Classic a chance

(This is a post specifically about the Khvostov, not auto rifles in general. Warning, it's a long post) Its unfortunately no mistake that everyone's favorite starter weapon is thrown under the bus in its exotic form. This post is just suggesting some ideas to make this gun worth that exotic slot. 1. Fire Modes Its no secret that the real exotic perk of the Khvostov is that it can change from its hard hitting 450 Rounds Per Minute (rpm) to a bullet flinging 900 rpm with the perks to go with it. This part of the fire modes is perfectly fine, its the selector switch that is the issue. Full auto is the default and dominant fire mode used thanks to its dependable damage and overall usefulness in the PvE spectrum. This should remain working the same way it does. Burst fire is the second option available to this auto rifle. Burst fire can turn it into a vicious stream of rounds flying towards your foes or it can be a hard hitting burst with an unfortunately awkward magazine. Other than a magazine correction for the 450 rpm mode (the last burst with and without extended mags fires only 2 rounds) I believe that the stability and range could use a bit of a buff to have it more usuable in this mode. Semi Auto The last and likely second most used configuration. This configuration is arguably the most frustrating as it is only remotely useful in 450 rpm mode and it hardly gets the range or impact to make it more useful than the auto rifle variant. A simple suggestion would be to notably increase the range and impact to make this mode feel more like a low impact scout rather than an ambitious auto rifle. The "Exotic" idea Even if everything here was implemented and utilized people would still need a good reason to use this over any legendary or exotic. My suggestion is that a sort of loadout system would be implemented where you can hit a switch and choose between two or three different set ups you created for the gun. Imagine that you have the weapon set up as a pseudo Doctrine of Passing but you get into a longer range firefight where your range just doesn't cut it. With the loadout system you could flip a switch and change to your scout rifle setup without pausing the game. This is a suggestion on how to make this weapon fit the role it was intended for, leave comments if you like or suggestions on how to improve it further. Either way, please help it get noticed to let Bungie see that there is a problem that can be fixed.
