The bag of glimmer on the table between them was significantly larger than he'd anticipated. He'd taken hits on other guardians before, and they'd always paid half the offer, and the other half after the deed was done. It wasn't his favourite kind of job; but it kept him alive. He wasn't blessed with a pretty face, not like Tormod's rugged attractiveness, people didn't trust him so easily. He had always been stuck doing those jobs no one else wanted to do, the kind of things that others would be ashamed of. Bringing in innocent guardians for questioning for shady factions or helping break into storage units or homes or even the vanguard. This was the first time he had ever had the light truly shine on him. Nirwen was kind, he did not judge him for his past and instead he valued him. He'd been around for awhile now, watched the wars from the sidelines while working for both sides. But now he was fighting for a better cause, he had helped take down a threat to the City instead of being the threat himself. He was doing good, he was helping protect people. “She was my friend.” He said, uncertain, but the crooked part of him was itching to grab the bag. “But I know you.” Tormod replied, his voice gruff. His cheek was singed, the burn mark from Deidris's fist hadn't healed. They were in a dingy little barely-an-establishment in the City, scarcely more than a hole in the wall with strong drinks and thick ash and smoke that coated all the surfaces. “You're no stranger to the dirty work.” The titan said, his head bowed to not be seen clearly, even though no one was around, even though the City had been evacuated. “You're a hatchet man – I would say you'd be amazed at how much information is leaked with just a bit of glimmer, but I expect you already know.” He nudged the bag closer to him. “This isn't a good idea.” He said. “There's more when the job is finished. I won't be needing it anymore.” Finnala put up a fight. She'd been injured when the Traveler fell and he expected her to be nursing her wounds and taking care of herself. Instead she had been half-dressed in armour, fingertips smeared with grease. His knife found its way into her ribs. Tormod dragged her into his ship by her bound wrists, blindfolded her, and took her Ghost.
