Amanda Holliday just sold a rare ship for the first time in ages. I didn't buy it. Here's why...

...because I had it drop for me in the Crucible. Back when the crucible used to give rewards. I remember my first time getting something other than last place in a Crucible match. It may have been 5th place, but it was glorious for a guy who hadn't used a controller for a shooter since the first halo game. I died thousands of deaths learning how to not die as many, and even get a few kills at that. And I got a sweet shader for my noob-soaked efforts! A Gilgamesh! I donned it with pride, and jumped back into the action to show off my hard-earned prize. 67 Gilgameshes and several months later, I no longer bothered to even keep one in the vault, let alone wear it. It had lost its magic with the other oft-dropped shaders, and earned it's place in crap Crucible reward lore. Getting a shader was a bummer, compared to what could have been... ..but that was when Crucible used to drop shaders and ships in abundance. The days when you could earn something other than an instantly dismantled blue armor piece or the rarely gained legendary are long gone. Oh how I miss the crunch of a ship as I discard it, making room for the other blue ship waiting in my mailbox. Oh how my loins ache with a longing to hear the last breath of a Gilgamesh, holding the button down, smothering the life out of it... There is an empty place in my inventory. Where a flying double toaster-looking ship should be... But seriously Bungie. Fix the drop rates. Add the shaders and ships. It's been too long. Really.
