You read it right. Tell me your video game deaths. I'll tell you mine. So listen up humans... I was playing Halo Reach with my friends, and I was completely new with all the mechanics. (I used to play a lot of CoD, so the transition was difficult.) Of course being the weakest one in the game, times were tough. My friends would always take the scorpion, the Spartan laser, the ghost, etc... Finally, I managed to get a kill and fly the banshee. Again, I didn't know the mechanics of the game, so it took some time. When I finally got it, I decided to fly upwards out of the map. The game didn't let me, so I turned back, only to be headed straight towards a mountain, crashing to my death. My friend had his sniper scoped in on me, and all you could see in the distance was an explosion, some debris, and my corpse slowly falling down the mountain.
