There's a new threat out there in PVP, and it isn't Thorn

With all the hype surrounding Thorn as being the most OP primary in the crucible, I decided I would go out on a limb and say it isn't. Not by any means. My reasons for saying this is that when hit by thorn once at full health, your screen will start that telltale green glow. If quickfooted enough, one may be able to break line of site to cover and steer clear of danger and prepare a counter attack. In fact, within range, a vex mythoclast can take out a Thorn user in a one on one fight, though you'll most likely escape with a sliver of health left. Currently there is a weapon being wielded by a few talented or (lucky?) guardians that dominates in almost every one on one fight. It's called the The Messenger. A legendary pulse rifle that kills with two bursts to the body, supposedly. Unlike Thorn, you're dead before you know what hit you. While the last word may have the fastest time to kill, it is hampered severely by it's range. Range doesn't seem to be much of a problem with the Messenger. Some are already screaming NERF! I would disagree. Bungie's broken weapon balancing has resulted in top tier PVP weapons like SUROS Regime and the Vex Mythoclast being but former shadows of what they were, especially in the case of auto rifles. Bungie is set to overhaul the weapon balancing again before the Taken King expansion releases, and perhaps this time, they'll see that nerfs add to the problem of balancing. EVERY weapon type should have a top performer or two. You like hand cannons and getting in close? The Last Word. Like flanking and picking off targets within mid range? Mida Multitool. Like rushing headfirst into a skirmish? SUROS Regime. In any case, allow those wielding the Messenger to have their fun, just as long as others with great weapons that they love have a decent chance of fighting back. Until weapons are balanced, equip a sniper and look out for anyone wielding that terrifying pulse rifle.
