Cards on the table: I sucked at Gambit the few times I tried to play it, I'm just not that skilled at PvP, but I'd really rather not let my team and faction down.
What works, what doesn't? Should we all be prepared to equip sniper rifles? Am I going to need to learn how to duck?
I don't even know enough to know what to ask, but it seems like Gambit players are going to have a helluvan advantage this season. What should we PvE only players know that we don't?

If you don't like nor want to invade, don't worry about it. There will be plenty that do. As for dealing with invaders: attack them as a team. It's 4 of yall, 1 of them. Yall got heavy, special, abilities, etc too. Side note: the only way to get better at invading is to do it. Figure out what weapons you like, your style of attack, etc.

5 RepliesOh how the tables have slightly moved around... Guess us Gambit people aren't so lame now, huh? But honestly, Truth is ok I guess. Colony works better for hidey players. Snipers are great if you're good under pressure with them. 180 scouts will be your best friend. But really, all the advice and youtube help guides in the world won't save you all from us. We remember how you all laughed at us because you couldn't see how fun Gambit was. Now we're coming for you... You ready to bang knuckles?

Leviathan's Breath. That is all.

This is the best advice ever: Choose the mode that doesn't have invaders.

3 RepliesAs a Reckoner and multi-gilded Dredgen
I got nothing. Just play until you lose your sanity and then about an hour past that for as long as the season goes on. Eventually, you become so numb you either complete the goal you set for yourself or you will break your console/PC
Hope that helps 🙃

After playing Metro Royale on and off for several seasons, some advice from this not so good player 1. Avoid direct confrontation If you're not that good in reflex and aiming, you're just feeding the enemies. Better stay low and ambush 2. Check small areas Most people will head to big places with bosses for the loot, leading to a big fight. What people often ignore is that small areas also have some chance to drop high value items such as gold bars when you play Metro Royale 3. Better play small and safe than go big and lose everything Scavenge whatever left and enter a place only after everyone is gone if you suspect there's a fight there. Better off with loads of scraps alive than a handful of treasures dead, giving no value from getting plundered

As for surviving it's very simple hide far far away from danger. -dreaming city place = back of the cathedral. -the one with the beach and a broken cabal ship = underneath the middle or deep in the beginning or attack he's probably next to the ship. -The vex one with the drill you can hide deep in the back they usually spawn near the base or deep in that corner spot not the drill area usually though. I usually hit a portal if I'm nearby it and continue to hit them just to confuse. -the one on Titan with the spinny circles in the middle. Just hit the spinning circle and cocoon yourself somewhere deep, or continue to move fast they may not get you.

It's all about gun choice when it comes down to invasion. At the higher end levels of gambit this game is really 30 second PVP match at range. -Qua xaphan v - Machine gun ***with the right roll stability/recoil taming = amazing*** -Jotun - Fusion? exotic = big fan base -Herod c = again correct roll. - truth or some homing rocket. They've gotten me plenty like jotun. -Crimson - hand Cannon = if close enough At the higher level the other team someone will know exactly where you spawned.

4 RepliesAs a Gambit enthusiast I will say that one of the most effective strategies pre-renegades has always been using a Heavy Machine Gun. The ammo economy is fantastic for both defense and invading. The key will be finding one that you like the most to use. Exotic-wise Thunderlord is great as well as Xenophage. The next best choice is exotic rocket launchers with the kings being Ghorn, Truth, and Deathbringer. You’ll have to manage your ammo a little more but all three can remove threats or make you a large threat very quickly. Eager edge swords are very strong but there is a skill gap to them but once mastered you can be on top of an opponent like lightning. Snipers, scout rifles, and linear fusions I lump all together as one type as they all seem to operate to the same effectiveness. Personally, I’m inclined to use Linears as my go to Gambit heavy but that is just me. When invading surprise is always your best advantage. Be on the move and strike quickly. Staying in one place is risky, it can be used to your advantage as your opponents will come to you but you can also be easily overwhelmed. When you are defending against an invader always challenge as a team unless you are absolutely sure you can handle a 1v1. Invaders wipe teams that run away and try and hide. 4 v 1 is not good odds for an invader; Invaders are boogy-men ghosts and should not be feared if you have a team working together and communicating. Drop what you are doing and hunt the hunter. I say this as Reckoner that gild Dredgen each season. Ask away if you have questions or want clarification!

Learn where the invasion spawns are, as soon as you get invaded start hunting them down and be aggressive, if the whole team starts hunting you got a better chance to shut them down every time.

Sleeper Simulant and Leviathans Breath were the two I would use for invasions and killing incoming ones.

Edited by Obelix: 12/1/2025 10:30:51 PMFirst thing to note is that in Gambit, compared to the new Invader mode in Renegade, invaders can see you on the map and I think they have more resistance. Whereas in Renegade, from what i understand it will be closer to a balanced PvP experience where you have the advantage of surprise only. I’m not a big Gambit player, but I had to farm it a bit unfortunately for Malfeasance. What worked for me was Unwavering duty or the super. With a good MG you can wipe all 4 guardians in one invasion. When I am invaded, I get paranoid and look everywhere lol. Depending on the map, the spawn location are the same so at some point you try anticipating where they are going to show up.

I used to like Xenophage in Gambit, was often effective against invaders. Thunderlord and other lmgs could be good as well. It’s been a while but there was a rapid fire Trials scout rifle that I also liked, Aisha’s Embrace.

1 ReplyPvP takes time to learn and everyone has their own limits. I’ve played a huge amount of PvP and Gambit over the years, but my reaction speed and accuracy are not the best. There are players that will always wipe the floor with me, so you have to accept your level and make improvements where you can. Don’t beat yourself up over it. I play to my strength (strategy) and try to outthink my opponents to land the first hit - the first hit often decides if you win or lose a duel. If you’re facing multiple opponents, you’ve either got to hit them all hard, or be really sneaky to try and pick them off one by one. I usually used swords for dealing with invaders in Gambit because you have the 3rd person view to peek around cover and see where they are. I used to rush them at the first opportunity and either get the kill, or distract them enough that my teammates could take care of them if I died. I expect the new activity to play differently though. The maps look a lot bigger and invaders get 3 lives. I think we’re all going to be learning how to play it well.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 12/1/2025 9:36:43 PMFor beginners? Rockets. 100 Super. Build Super, if possible before you attack. Hunter. Silence and Squall, Gathering Storm, Tether Warlock. Needlestorm, WoF, Nova... or just axions, lol. Titan. Stronholds, Void Axes And Glaives will be strong for all classes... in particular Vex Calibur. Rocket Pulses... the exotic strand one.
