Ultimate / GM Pit of Heresy (Pinnacle Ops) is hilariously mistuned

I am very familiar with Pit and have done it solo flawless, so I decided to run the mini version in Pinnacle Ops when I saw it appear. When it started I saw the timer was pretty short, but figured ... oh, it must be because it's just the first encounter. Makes sense. It was not just the first encounter. I finished my the first encounter solo with about 2 min on the clock, and when the chest didn't appear, I figured ... oh, maybe Bungie wants you to also do the traversal afterward to dunk the orbs to get the loot. That makes some kind of sense. So I queued up fireteam finder, found some randoms, and went in on Ultimate mode. We finished with 6-7 min remaining and headed down to the maze. We dunked the orbs and opened the chamber of suffering, and that's when I realized Bungie wants you to run TWO full REALLY LONG encounters in order to get pinnacle loot, but the timer seems like it must be tuned for one encounter. I have to believe this is a mistake, because on top of the timer being like 20 min or less (I don't recall the actual time limit) the Ultimate power scaling means enemies are nearly contest level difficult and that scales to the sword damage as well. Apart from the block mechanic for the shrieker, I required two swords per mini-boss. What is up with this timer? Just make it 45 min like a GM and it's fine.

When we beat that, we realized we had more to and had to rush to it. Beat it just as the timer hit zero. Heard the chest spawn but got no loot cause I had the boot to orbit when timer hits zero on. Granted there were two of us and if we knew in the beginning there would be more after the first encounter, we would have done the opening faster and split up, but still. I see no reason this content should even be in the portal when it doesn’t have any dungeon loot. I will never choose to do any dungeon lair outside of maybe the warlord ruin one cause that’s a fun encounter. Ghalran is okayish. The pinnacle ops tab in general is a complete failure imo. Everything in there needs its own loot pool or associated weapon for target farming to justify playing now than just whatever the fastest one is. Too much variety in the content in there to make sense to clump it all together with the same rewards.

    • Did a run a couple days ago, no issue. We even had Pressure Cooker on.

    • They aren't even giving you loot at the end of the 1st encounter? Typical stingy behavior from Bungie, can't even reward on the same level as a 6 year old Dungeon with its already meager drops.

        6-7min remaining is usually when I'm starting the ogre maze. If your highest LL is 458, no 💩 it's contest level difficulty you being -42 in Ultimate. What order are you doing the ogre maze orbs? 16:48 is the time limit btw.
