My clan is started a 2v2 tournament yesterday, which we obviously have to play in Private Matches. In a scrim I noticed my Ace was generating orbs from my headshot kills (like it is supposed to everywhere else in the game), then I realized I still had the tonic applied from a Verdant Forest run a half an hour ago. Did some testing just now as it was late last night.
Test results (No masterworked weapons were used) (Keep in mind these are chances to generate orbs on headshots, it is not guaranteed)
- Not buying the tonic guarantees no orb generation.
- After buying the tonic, activating it at least once, and then by letting it run out, you still generate orbs on headshots.
- Buying the tonic, activating it at least once and deleting it will still allow you to generate orbs on headshots.
- Having the tonic active generates orbs on headshots.
- Having the tonic not active but wearing pieces of the Vernal Growth (Eververse) and/or Inaugural Revelry sets still allows you to generate orbs on headshots.
TL;DR: - YOU DO GENERATE ORBS IN PRIVATE MATCHES WHETHER YOUR TONIC IS ACTIVE OR NOT!This is a chance to generate orbs, which is increased by having the tonic active and/or wearing the Revelry armor sets.
Please fix this Bungie, the one place you said the tonic doesn’t work, works, and it will force my clan to postpone our tournament due to the super and ability regen.
