People don't get what it takes to create new stuff (Development)

Hi dear community, I roughly think that the most of the people that "hate" out there, without any single constructive feedback, about the DLC (or the raid lairs) know what it actually takes to develop such a big ass raid. Like have you done well coded programming before? Modelling? Animating? Sound effects? Mapping? I'm not trying to defend this game, it's more that I wanna say that you should think about the people behind the game, in the studios. They're just normal people like you and me and they use their time to develop you guys something to play, have fun and enjoy. And after that they get hated to death with nonsense hating? How would you feel as a developer? And obviously it's gonna cost you something, would you code hundreds of hours, if not even thousands of hours for free? As a developer myself, I can tell you, it's not easy, it takes a damn lot of time and effort. And after that we'd love a "thank you" instead of a "f**k you". Not saying you should love the game completely after this, but understand the work that has been put in. This had to be said: At least some respect to the developers, designers & co. would be appreciated, instead of all the braindead-hating. Everyone has their opinion, but think about it, before shouting it. Thank you for your time Lots of love for the community & the workers Don Diablo

The flack this guy is getting for simply stating creating parts of destiny takes time is just astounding. He isn’t saying D2 is perfect just understand that without actually being in the office sitting with developers you have no idea what its like and what it takes to create content for destiny. Im not saying bungie is innocent, there are plenty of aspects that need fixing. I for one appreciate what they have created, and I’m talking destiny in its entirety.

I don’t think anybody expected a new raid for curse of Osiris but the 2nd dlc should have one. They should release quality content rather than the shit they’re putting out now

      • @Don Diablo, I get where you're coming from however I'd also like to point out that we are talking about a company with some 750 employees and associated with major gaming development companies like Activision and Blizzard. It's not like people are demanding multiple raids and lots of content (like WoW gets for each expansion) however I think that, if you're going to demand €60 to buy the game and then charge some €30 per expansion then you'd expect at least some sort of decent end-game. With that said, one of the biggest issues I think most people have so far is not the actual amount of the content but rather the choices made on how to spend development - I'm no expert but I'd think that developing the option to pick your own Crucible match type wouldn't be ground-breaking, nor would adding slightly more complex looting items (like set items, for example). I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for Bungie at this stage; they have shown that, as a game developer, they were nowhere near ready to take on such a massive project and would have done better just creating Destiny as a single-player game and focused on that and gave people a more limited but better game to play (like Horizon Zero Dawn).

        • They started on D2 when D1 was released. Do you think they released D1 and sat around for a couple of years. They handed the game over to the developers same as they have said for D2. So yeah it takes a long time, which is why they can’t save this pile of junk called D2

          • I just want to thank all of the developers for choosing video game development. If you can't handle that then it's a good thing you don't have a job with lives depending on you.

          • What about all the great things that were created in the first game that got left behind?

          • The money they've made from both games (and continue to make) should more than cover hiring more people to make better content quicker. You don't gotta be big like Activision to make fulfilling games, just gotta not make profit the company's focal point.

            • So as a developer, would you rather take the time to create something like a new raid, release it and have it praised, or would you rather half ass it, add some activity content to already created assets, re skin some weapons and lock people out of base content for the sake of...well....money?
